gets 31 digital HD channels which is way more than I expected. All channels are crystal clear and the remote rotator for the antenna works great. I tried the indoor version first and only got 14 channels. If you are tired of paying for cable this is what you need. Get all local channels which includes 2 movie channels, 2 childrens channels, and all I need for entertainment. Great deal for the money.
This antenna exceeded all my expectations. I live 40 + miles from Tampa and 60+ miles from Orlando, I pick up all the Tampa channels and a few of the Orlando channels off the back side of the antenna with out using the rotary system. It probably helps that I am located in a straight line between the two cities. I pick up some of the channels in Tampa without using the amplifier. I mounted it on 2- 10 1/2 foot pieces of chain link fence top rail. I would recommend this antenna to anyone.
This Antenna works great! Some reviewers thought the "mini coax" was cheap but it IS rg59 and works just fine. I sell electrical and tel com parts to contractors so I'm good with parts and installs. I am in Waldo Ar. and get ABC and NBC from Shreveport LA. and Texarkana TX. The rotational motor works fine and both stations are over 60 mi. away. News, weather and reg TV programming from 6 different channels. Very happy! TIPS: place as HIGH up as possible, Support any long lengths of pipe or strut to be sturdy in high wind, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS! The quality of the material is fine for what it does. I did not use the j mount purchased separately it was not even close to the right diameter to mount the antenna on. MY BAD. You will get a tiny tiny bit of pixilation in very bad weather.... to be expected. It has worked fine in regular rain and fog and wind.
This Antenna works great. This is at my camp. It is in a valley and catches all the stations with out having to rotate it. I wish I would have bought this a long time ago. O and the rotation part of the antenna works great and installed in say 10 minutes. I Highly recommend it.
Like all HDTV antennas that are compact they come with a build in RF preamp but the remnant VHF channels like ch 6 Philadelphia may require an older pre-digital TV era antenna ( and preamp) system to receive it in your location. The light weight and small size allowed me to mount this system easily on a PVC pipe on my balcony (see photo) which is on our second floor [fyi I routed the coax through the pipe]. You may consider adding a grounding block (break the cable in a convenient location add F connectors connect to a grounding block that diverts static electricity to ground and avoid potential lightning). Does this sound hard to you? It isn't that hard and you can Google it for guide information concerning any aspect. I also have experience with routing the coaxial cable through the house wall or floor you may need help from a handyman if you cannot do that. Finally, the rota-tor does not offer feedback and has only one button; this means you must position it visually yourself or with the help of someone to assist you. Press and hold the button and the antenna rotates in one direction, stop and press again it rotates in the opposite direction (tricky because sometimes you must press it a couple of times to get it to go to where you want it to go). Once you position it there is a good chance you will not need to re position it unless it is moved by a gust of wind (rarely this can happen). The position depends on where the TV station transmitters are located relative to your location; if you receive a sufficient number of stations you just chose the position that works best for your favorites. Unlike analog signals of the past that could fade in and out digital signals either provide you with a channel or they do not; a marginal signal may come and go displaying pixels that seen erratic or frozen. NOTE: Time of day and weather can affect which stations you receive so I recommend having your TV scan the channels periodically (at least until you become familiar with what stations you can receive). I hope you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was at how many stations I could receive. I enjoy my TV more with the free stations this antenna system enables us to receive.
Straight from the box I thought ,Oh no I've been had. After assembly, please just use the picture on the box the assembly instructions were more than useless. I placed the antenna on my front deck, hit scan on the TV and have been watch 23 free channels with no problem. The low purchase price and ease of installation, along with the great TV reception make me wonder why I stayed with a pay cable service all these years.
For the price I am not complaining except for the instructions. Previous to this antennae I had an indoor antenna hung outside. While I had reception, it wasn't as good as I knew it should be. This antenna has enabled me to receive most of my missing channels, though there is still one I would have liked to receive. I can't complain for the ~$20 I spent, better than what I had. The rotor works fine from what I can see. Tested it and did use it to get better reception on one channel but still can't get a couple I would have liked. I am a considerable distance from broadcast towers. I have taken off 1 star because the instructions are those 8pt little hardly readable kind, with pictures hard to discern they are washed out and tiny. I never put one of these together before and I still don't know why they enclosed a bunch of ties, which are not even mentioned. My neighbor mounted it on the house and used one to keep the cable on the pole from dangling.
This antenna seems to be a good antenna. It was a inprovement over the old one we had from the 80s. But it don't have every good instructions but you can get it done. The big disappointment for me was it wouldn't pick up TV 13 CBS out of the same town that 2 or 3 of the others are out of and they came in great. Went back to the old antenna for now. I will try the Supersonic HDTV agin later when the weather get a little better. Dec. & Jan is not the best time to work on something like a antenna here in South Eastern Ohio.
The antenna is performing rather well under the circumstances...we are located in a valley where there are plenty of trees and other obstacles and we didn't expect much. To our surprise we are getting TV channels. We can't pull in all channels but some are better than none.
bought it because it supposed to reach 120 miles but dose not pick all my 13 local channels had to put it on a really high pole also the channels cut in and out maybe will do better if we put it on a higher pole but like the motorized at least u dont have to go outside to turn it
