Survival of the Dead

So, as an avid horror fan I set out on an expedition to find and watch every George A. Romero Zombie movie ever created. Admittedly I was never much of a fan until the genre became a craze and then I needed to see what all the fuss was about. I started with 28 days later, and the rest as they say was history. I watched some of the remakes of George's work, and honestly found them to be empty of the essence of Romero's original films. So after watching Night, Dawn, Day, Land, Diary, and now Survival - I can firmly say this film may be the best in the George A. Romero epic Zombie Saga! The only off note in the film would be the *Spoiler Alert - Fishing for zombies gag...other then that this film is every bit as enticing, and controversial as the other films if not more. What I admired most about the film is how George eloquently gives a gentle nod to each of his previous films without making it too obvious or campy. Survival of The Dead is a fitting elegy to the dead series in what may be George A. Romero's final masterpiece!
