If you are married keeping the wife happy is usually worth the effort. In my case it absolutely is. In her office at home she has a keyboard and a computer neither of which had external speakers so the sound quality was pretty dreadful. That said, for less than 1500 bucks all in I was able to provide her a kick butt desktop system with a DAC/amp (100 wpc) the Ultra Evo's and a mixer so she could play along with music from her computer. Happier than I have seen her in a while. I liked the sound well enough I had to get a pair for me too. :) She couldn't say much since I bought hers first. I call it strategic gifting. LOL

I have my new Ultras front channels Set up with SVS Sound Path Speaker cables. I'm loving the sound. So Far, I've done some Bluetooth Music streaming through my new Emovtia MR1 from my iPhone 15 as well as playing some Blu-ray disc movies. Very crisped detail and warm sounds along with the added punch from my pair of SP 1000's. Looking forward to adding the 6 SVS Ultra surrounds I've got on order. Stay tuned, more results coming.

I purchased a set of Ultra Evolution Bookshelf speakers in Piano Gloss Black to add some height to the soundstage of movies, and the types of music not specifically mastered for two channel when using Enhanced Stereo (PCM) or Neural:X (DTS) on my NAD T-778 receiver. Mission accomplished! These look great and sound even better. For electronic music especially, the soundstage is HUGE now. A+ all around!

This is the review I have wanted most so far from all my SVS speakers to write. This speaker in sound quality is stunning. I am using them for my surround speakers. They are perfectly balanced with crystal clear highs and yet not fatiguing to listen to for hours on end. If I were truly hard-pressed to put forth something that could be better it would just be having more cabinet finishing choices. Since these are for my home theater and living room, I did not want a shiny finish, but I would have jumped at the chance to get a matt-style walnut, cherry, or similar type finish. They still look quite decent in matt black that I chose, but to me this can be a separating factor for why others might choose to pay a premium for another brand. Sound quality however, you cannot beat these for the price. I fully expect many years of enjoyment from these speakers.

I love the Ultra Evolution Bookshelf speakers. Paired with as sb1000 subwoofer, the sound is excellent. These speakers are for a small dedicated music room, and my vinyl collection is getting a thorough play through again now that I can fully hear the music as it should be. Great product SVS, keep up the good work.

I am impressed with the sound of these speakers. The fit and finish are very nice. I chose the black oak finish because of the proximity to my video screen and the potential for reflections. The sonic performance of the Ultra Evolution bookshelf speakers is impressive. They replaced a pair of PSB Series 6T (large tower) speakers. The UEB sound better in the midrange and highs. Imaging is really good too. I am crossing them to a SVS sub at 80 hzs.

The best sounding speaker for the price, period

I have a speaker/amp switcher, so I easily compared the difference between the Ultra, and the Ultra Evo bookshelf speakers. The Evo's just have a better overall balanced sound.
