After 30 years of owning my beloved Infinity Composition Prelude P-FR Loudspeakers that needed a tender bit of loving care & having purchased a PB-1000 Pro Subwoofer several years ago, I was 100% sold on SVS products and their customer service & support. I told myself that when the time came for a new pair of speakers, they would be my first choice. After reading the rave reviews on the Ultra Evolution Speaker Line, I decided to jump in feet first. With a 45 day trial period and a 5 year warranty, it was a no brainer._x000D_ After one week of ownership, I am so very happy with these Titans once the phantom center "appeared" after several hours of break-in. I was shockingly stunned at the detail, clarity, placement of vocals & instruments, all "visually and aurally" perfectly placed on the soundstage. Kudos and congratulations to SVS for this amazing line of speakers!
After a 24 hour break in, these speakers are awesome. The instrument and vocal positioning on the sound stage is incredible. If I close my eyes while listening, I cannot tell where the speakers are located. The sound fills the room, even though I don't listen at loud levels. The dynamic range is alarming, especially when I'm napping and very low note is hit,!! The highs and lows are both excellent. The speakers clearly reveal the intricacies of the music. I listened to the SVS 2025 Florida Expo Playlist and have discovered new hi definition music that makes these speakers sparkle. Also, SVS customer service is excellent so if you are on the fence, give them a try for 45 days and take advantage of their customer satisfaction process if by chance you are not as impressed as I am.
The combination of Ultra Evolution Titan speakers with the Ultra Evolution Center channel speaker takes care of my music as well as home theater needs. Build quality of these speakers is top notch and matches the audiophilic sound quality out of the box. Keep the two tower speakers at least 2 feet away from the backwalls to experience booming bass. Great product delivered in time with ever helpful customer service. Your team rocks !
I've had these for a week, and have them calibrated to my Marantz Cinema 60. _x000D_ _x000D_ The packaging was fantastic: easy to move, unbox and set up. _x000D_ _x000D_ The sound quality is fantastic, worth the money. I'm not even using my center speaker anymore, I prefer the phantom center image. _x000D_ _x000D_ The Titans are all around great speakers.
I've had these for a couple weeks now and I'm going to keep them. I was looking for a replacement for my Tekton Double Impacts. I considered the KEF r11, GoldenEar 1.r., and the Pinnacle Evo lineup from SVS, the Titans big brother._x000D_ _x000D_ Head to head against the Tekton the vocals were not near as forward. This was also true when I compared them to some KEF R7 I borrowed as well as the R11. The goldenear i backed off of due to the integrated amp. Some of their models are being discontinued which was also concerning._x000D_ _x000D_ I messed with positioning as well as moving acoustic treatments around to see how that would help. Still no big change. Then it hit me. It was my high sitting couch and the height of the tweeters. Tilting them back a few degrees made a significant difference for the better._x000D_ _x000D_ I ordered some IsoAcoustics stands that fit perfectly under the towers. This 3" increase in height fixed almost everything i was comparing about. _x000D_ _x000D_ They are not as detailed as the KEF but the Titans were so much more fun to listen to. By no means don't think these are not detailed. I enjoyed so much of what I was listening to I stopped being so analytical of the speakers! This is doesn't happen._x000D_ _x000D_ I'm still in my return period and keep wondering if the Pinnacle would be a big upgrade or not. I dont want to be that guy. These have to cost SVS a pretty penny to ship. But you have nothing to lose give them a shot._x000D_ _x000D_ I'm very eclectic in just about every genre of music out there. But if I was to rate from 1 to 10 on how well these play in different genres._x000D_ Pop 10_x000D_ Rock 9_x000D_ Metal 8.5 not sure if it the room or the mids._x000D_ Jazz 8_x000D_ Pipe organ 9.5_x000D_ Edm 10_x000D_ Country 10_x000D_ I could go on and on. But these are very very well rounded._x000D_ _x000D_ Also yes, I am married and got the wife approval factor without a fight. (Tekton Double Impacts didn't go so well when I brought those monsters home)._x000D_ _x000D_ There is a full Martin Logan theater setup in a different room. No not super high end. I did try the Martin' motion 40i against the SVS. They weren't even on the same planet! I would ditch the entire Martin setup and run the Titans with matching center and surrounds if I could afford it. It's that big of a difference. Some day. _x000D_ _x000D_ You won't be disappointed!!!!_x000D_ _x000D_ Setup as tested._x000D_ 77" c95d samsung OLED_x000D_ _x000D_ Preamp: _x000D_ Nad c658 bluos streaming tidal. I'm an "old school" audio guy who got into this in the late 70s and never left. I just got Ultra Evolution Titans and an SB17 Ultra Sub and WOW... The Titans are so good down to around 30-something Hz that I didn't even hook up the sub for a few days. They are an incredible value and deliver a lively but sweet and not harsh full-range soundstage with impact, transparency, imaging, depth, and speed... _x000D_ _x000D_ Having 'grown up' in the industry I've enjoyed many fine loudspeakers over the years, including stacked New Larger Advents, JBL L100, ADS 810, Apogee Duetta Signature, Apogee Stages, Apogee Centaur Minors (amazing 'little' ribbons), B&W 800 series, KEF LS50 Meta (also amazing), and others, however, I have to say these simply blow me away. The Titans combine the best attributes of so many other speakers into one, incredible package. I always forget about the sound and simply enjoy music again every time I listen to them. _x000D_ _x000D_ I thoroughly enjoy these SVS speakers, way more than I thought I would. They are a keeper, forever!
I've been a planar speaker fan for nearly 30 years having had several pairs of Martin logan electrostatics (really hybrids) and at least five pairs of magnepans up through and including two pair of 3.7i which I have always considered my audiophile nirvana. So, needless to say I was somewhat distressed when my current GF told me I needed to redecorate the house before she would even consider moving in. She strongly suggested that I needed to start by "disposing" of the two big black "doors" standing in the middle of the living room. I was really torn between the though of loss of my premium sound or the loss of my premium GF who took me many years to find. The GF won out because I know I could just buy another pair of 3.7is if the relationship fails..lol. The SVS Titan caught my eyes mostly because they were white and shiny and would "fit" well in my GF's plans for our new decor. I've has experience with SVS thru the years but mostly in SUBWOOFERS for the various home theaters I have built. I knew that SVS was building full range speakers for a dozen or so years but I mainly thought of them being nice dynamic speakers for a home theater or Media room, surely not for "audiophile" listening. So I did some reading and viewed a couple of reviews on the "Tube" and held my breath and took a giant leap and ordered a pair of Ultra Evolution Titans in gloss white. With SVS guarantee and return policy all I could loose was my time and effort so I figured. They arrived in a few days on a custom pallet and I had one of my employees who is also into this hobby help me unbox them and set them up, since they are really heavy for their size. Probably as a result of lots of cabinet bracing and a high driver count. As my gear warmed up I started to think that I made a big miscalculation since they sounded really bad. The high end was shrill and piercing and the bottom nearly non existent for the first few hours. I need to keep telling myself to be patient since these were dynamic speakers that require some time to break in and sound decent. Hint...SVS should attach a note telling you this on the outside of the box. My patience was rewarded and somewhere around the 20 hour mark I was able to first discern the different instruments on some of my treasured albums. It's gotten much better now and somewhere near the 200 hour mark so it's time for me to give my opinion. First the cabinets won the immediate approval of my GF, and many other friends for that matter. Everyone seem to prefer them with the magnetic grilles on than off...everyone except me of course. That's the beauty of such a simple but effective attachment system. I like the time alignment concept because of how it reduces the im distortion present in many "unaligned" dynamic speakers. This time alignment factor is what has always lead me to favor planar speakers. Be aware you won't notice the full effect of the time alignment till about the 150 hour mark because the drivers are all over the place until their individual suspensions loosen up. My final advice is that even though most reviewers talk about using them with a receiver the better your upstream equipment is, the better the experience will be with the EVO line. I have a system that can be definitely classified as being beyond high end. My gear has names mostly recognized only by audiophiles such as Balanced Audio Technologies, Aragon, Project, Naim, etc and these puppies just love the headroom that 400 watts of high current clean power with a sprinkling of tube warmth can provide. I had connected them originally with a pair of fire hose sized speaker cables that I had fabricated long ago, but as fate would have it a friend was breaking apart his system and offered to loan me some Nordost White LIghtning cables just to "play with". Well, the Nordosts very nicely got rid of the last bit of Piercing or Shouting in the upper mid/lower treble range. I now have two pair of these cables on order so I can BIwire the whole setup. _x000D_ I'm not going to use platitudes, I just simply say the the high's are crystal clear, the mids well texture and the lows, well, they are SVS after all so the lows are palpable and strong. If it hasn't become apparent yet, the Titan's are keepers. I'm still waiting for some new furniture and to finish the room renovations and then I'll post some pictures.
I discovered "critical listening" as a child, though I had no words for it. My parents got me a set of radio shack headphones and I had an old zenith stereo with a built in 8 track (rewireed to play my cassettes), tuner, and a turntable. Not exactly audiophile stuff here, but I would plug in my headphones and get lost in the music, following specific instruments and picking up on nuances of sounds typically un-heard in normal listening. I grew to respect the hardware to achieve greater resolution. I knew there would always be those sonic "easter eggs" when critical listening was applied. _x000D_ With that said, I also couldn't always justify the cost of the hardware as a student and then a family man with other expenses. Over time I have acquired very capable equipment open up the music. I had always been missing that final piece, a capable set of speakers. I've had "nice" speakers and would drive them to their limitations. The ongoing saga of acquiring capable equipment continued without having to take out a second mortgage to afford. _x000D_ It was fate that brought me to look at SVS more closely. The Titans were in my cross hairs and I fired. I read and watched reviews to see a pattern emerge. Not one bad review from seemingly surprised audiophiles and reviewers. It started to seem less likely that this would be a compromised purchased to "settle" for something decent. Needless t say, I bought the Titans expecting better than what I had and potentially more. You don't know what you don't know, but I tell you, so you will know. There is no buyers remorse with this purchase. I feel I have discovered a secret. Two channel music listening is my indulgence. _x000D_ First off, I turned off my sub woofer because I don't need it anymore for the purpose of listening to music. The lows these passive towers put off is amazing. Out of the box, the drivers are stiff and it takes abot 4or 5 songs to start them getting loose. The sound stage I was typically accustomed to was my positon sitting about halfway back from the stage. These speakers put you in the front row of the sound stage. Listening to some playlists, I felt as though I was hearing these songs for the first time. The vocals on decent recording sound live as well as the rest of the arrangement. I hear so much more than ever. Bad or sub par recordings ... well, these speakers can't hide that. They provide a wakeup call for that kind of recording to get back into the studio and do it right. The high res music well recorded lives luxuriously inside these speakers. The only criticism I've heard about these speakers is that they are a little bright. That is true and that is one reason there is no justice being served here for a sub par mix. Audiophile picks will gain a life I assume that have only been reserved for the highly priced competition. Yes, these are a giant killer in the audio space. Thank you SVS for the oppurtunity to buy into this class of listening.
These are my first "real" speakers I have ever owned. Before this I was using inexpensive Elac bookshelf speakers for my home theater and music listening. I decided I wanted to step it up a bit. I had never really heard any high end speakers before these so I did not know what to expect. I am not an audiophile person (I love music, does that make me an audiophile person?) but when I heard these speakers (with my new pair of SVS SB-3000 subs, Evolution Ultra Center and Ultra Bookshelf's for surround) I was blown away, the clarity was night and day compared to what I was used to. It makes you want to put on music all the time and they add so much to the cinematic experience of watching movies, I love these speakers and the piano white looks so damn good!
I highly reccomend these speakers. Audiofile since 1978._x000D_ _x000D_ These are replacing my Vandersteen 2 CIs built in 1991. I have had Monitor Audio Siver towers, Paradyme bookshelf speakers, DCM timeline towers, Energy center, and B&W surrounds._x000D_ _x000D_ The SVS Ultra Center channel and Prime Elevations (4) sounded so good that I was ready to buy the Prime Pinnacles. Then I heard about the Ultra Evolition series. _x000D_ _x000D_ Out of the box the Titains sound terrific. Non-fatiguing etherial highs, articulate bass with no bloating (remember to toe in the speakers 25-30%). Ihave mine bout 18" from the wall. My 2 other surrounds are B&W, with an RSL 10S sub._x000D_ _x000D_ I have an Integra DRX 5.4 (2021) with a 3 channel OSD class H amp (165x3 into 6 Ohms RMS for RCL speakers).
