We used this to carry our bikes on the back of our trailer bumper as well as our truck via the hitch in the same trip. It was easy to move it to either vehicle and held the bikes still do no damage from moving wheels ad in a hanging rack type device.
Easy to install. I liked having two options to mount on my RV.
It is light weight, holds the bikes steady and secure and was not difficult to install.
This is one of the few bike racks rated for the back of a camper trailer. Just because one says it is RV rated doe not mean trailer rated. Some are for motorhomes. Trailers bounce up and down a lot more than vehicles and motorhomes so they require a much stronger bike rack. It comes with a bumper adapter to hook on the rear bumper of a trailer or connect into a receiver for a hitch. Unless you do something to strengthen the bumper I would not hook it to the bumper. Camper bumpers are not welded on very well. The bike rack is great but it is the bumper you have to be concerned about. This rack is about 15 lbs heavier than the one that mounts on the rear of a vehicle if that tells you anything about how much more steel is in this unit
This is a very decent bike rake for the price. Not as "beefy" as some others but will certainly do the job. It has a short hitch bar which works great on our camper as it keeps the bikes closer to the camper and doesn't put as much as leverage on the bumper. This type of rack with the wheel holders is the way to go...the bikes don't swing around and hit each other. Biggest drawback is there is no provision for locking the bikes other than looping a cable through the bikes/rack.
It was easy to assemble. Seems very sturdy. Adjust to fit our two different bikes as advertised. The only negative is that our fifth wheel doesn't have a rear bumper so we had to get a hitch extender so the bikes would clear the back of the camper. The good thing about that is we were able to get one that gives it a little more ground clearance.
It went together and mounted pretty easy. Easy to load and unload bikes. Its made plenty heavy for our two bikes. We like it/
I gave it 3 stars because I have only just mounted it on my camper and Walmart is already asking for a review. I just picked it up a week ago.
Just after a few RV trips, this product broke/was defective. The front left part of the frame (where the tire is placed) bent downward while in route, and my bike was left dragging behind our trailer. Needless to say, my bike was damaged. Now I have to get a new bike carrier and bike. Not happy with this product at all.
