Swann 1080P Video 4 Channel DVR Security Camera System, 1TB Hard Drive, 2 Indoor/Outdoor Cameras, Wired CCTV Surveillance, 24/7 Recording Security Camera

I bought this on special at Bing Lee and was impressed with how easy it was to DIY install and set up. It took me about a day to install an 8 camera system using conduit and junction boxes so as to make installation look neat and tidy. Using junction box for BNC cable connection makes it easier to replace cameras in the future if required. (See photo attached). For a 2K 1080p HD system the video quality is better than I expected and the system works great with the associated Homesafe View App. Setting up the system and associated app is easy with help from the Swann wizard that steps you through the process. Online support and videos available if you are having problem setting up.

I bought this just this week, installed it today with a friend helping me over the phone. It was easiest thing i have installed. Great product....big fat thank you

Went from a crappy 4 wireless camera system to the Swann 8 camera wired system. No complaints so far. Set up was as simple as stated. Picture is crisp and clear. PIR easy to set up and works great, just a couple small glitches but that can be expected

Since installing this system I have had no issues. The system is easy to install and connect. This is my second Swann security system I've purchased. The first one is still working but wanted to update grade to the 4K picture quality is near perfect compared to my 720 I had before

Someone tried to steal my car last month, so I decided to buy this surveillance system. It's been pretty easy to set up. I haven't put up all the cameras yet, but the ones that are up are functioning well. I work in security, and this system is very similar to the one at my work, so I'm pretty happy about that. It felt very familiar the moment I started using it. Unfortunately, I've been having problems with the Android app. I have to open it about a dozen times before it actually connects, although it might be user error. There are a couple things I still want to try. The iPad app works flawlessly though, so if I can't get the Android app to work, I may just switch to an iPhone since I've been considering getting one anyway. One feature I'd like too see in the app is an audible alarm for specific cameras that's loud enough to wake me up. The person that tried to steal my car did so while I was asleep, and my garage is a separate building. But I've already added door sensors and motion sensors in my garage that are connected to a very loud alarm that's right next to my bed, so I found a simple workaround. The thing I like most about this surveillance system is that insects don't trigger the camera motion detection very often, if at all. I have cameras from another company where insects set off the motion detection about every 5 seconds making the motion detection pretty useless. What's also nice about the cameras is that I don't see as many shady people around my house as I used to. I've already had reason to email photos to the police of people behaving very suspiciously on my property thanks to this surveillance system. Anyway, I'm just glad I bought this surveillance system, because it's protecting me and giving me peace of mind :-)

Product works great but I'm unable to my system to match up with app so I can see cameras on my phone

trying to get help from support team is hard

It seems that the digital camera is susceptible to deactivation via infrared red light assaults (law enforcement drones). I switched from the analogs, to prevent such problem but it looks like the digital is now also subject to deactivation.☹️ I am very serious! - 4 cameras lost in 4 weeks. Any input welcome - Hope that's helpful.

They advertise the fact that you can view your cameras from an app remotely no matter where you are. That's fine and it works great FOR ONE USER!!!! What happens if your wife or flatmate also wants to view the cameras remotely? No problem, just disable remote viewing on your app then enable it on theirs so they can view. When you want to view remotely again you have to get them to disable their app so you can re-enable yours. This is 2021.... Surely more than one person can view the cameras remotely at the same time??? I would award this system 5 stars if this seemingly simple feature was available. Now I realise Swann don't allow it, I have since found other vendors that do. If only I knew that before I purchased this system. Hopefully my review will prevent others from making the same mistake I did.
