Great service and fast shipping

Patton March 19, 2026

I bought the WIFI cameras as a replacement for older ones. Looked for them several places, never crossed my mind northern tools would carry WIFI cameras but there they were. Best service and quick delivery.

Love it

I have seen a few negative views posted here re this system. Had not had a single issue at all. Thing any issues that people have are from weak wi-fi signals possibly. I am running on about 110mbps and system works flawlessly. Could not recommend more and the quality of images is outstanding. 4K the way to go for sure.

Early stages

Devo December 18, 2024

I've only set up a couple of cameras at this point but he clarity is great, struggling to get used to this set up, don't seem to be able to delete clips I don't need, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. The set up was really easy, took maybe 30 mins and the wireless cameras are great for putting them wherever you want, as long as it's in range.

Not amazing

Nat123 September 21, 2024

The video quality is great however we have had wifi issues since the beginning. We can't get camera at all 4 corners of our (small) house connecting all at the same time. Certain features like person notifications also never work

Only okay

Sfell March 22, 2024

Great night vision but the app and control of the settings of the camera is not great. You cannot program the settings remotely which is pointless if you are off site. I am still trying to set it up but very inconsistent. Swann are helpful but I shouldn't have to be contacting them.

Let down by very poor wi-fi signal

Oldbrit October 20, 2021

Purchased a 4 Camera 4 Channel 4K Ultra HD Wi-Fi NVR Security System last month, because I needed wi-fi signal but not battery power. Since then I've been trying to get a wi-fi signal better than “Low” (one bar), which results in a poor quality, delayed picture. I occasionally get 2 bars (still ‘Low') from the 2 cameras located less than 5.5mtrs from the NVR, with a single brick wall between. Fitting a coax cable, to extend the antennae of the most important camera, ie. the one covering the front yard, resulted in signal loss that almost cancels the signal gained by the coax. My limited use, so far, suggests that the system is significantly let down by the components used to provide the (very poor) wi-fi signal. I would not recommend this system.

So far a disappointment

Nigel61 November 10, 2021

I chose to purchase the Swann system in the belief I was getting a premium product but after installing & using the system I get the feeling I was mistaken. The cameras ability to receive a wi-fi signal is very poor, I have one camera installed less than 5m from my router with only one wall between and yet I can only get a single bar strength and 1080p picture. The cameras will inevitably be installed outside a property where the wi-fi will never be at it's best so the cameras should be designed with that in mind, simply installing range extenders all around a property is just a work in my opinion and at my expense. Product quality is also a concern as one of my cameras wouldn't pick up any signal and needed to be replaced, I have now just received error messages to say the there is a problem with the hard drive so that may also need to be returned. Potentially a 66% failure rate in the hardware, not a good sign. A couple of other smaller items which wouldn't normally bother me but in light of the above need mentioning. The camera instructions mention a drill template but I couldn't find that so needed to make my own and the fixing screws are such poor quality that they started to rust within one week of being outside so I had to replace them. Small items I know but not what I expected from Swann. Overall I have the feeling I may have wasted my money but only time will tell.

Rubbish, don't waste your money

Very unhappy customer February 15, 2024

We have had this for a couple of years now, and I would not recommend it to anyone it ghosts people it freezers all the time; it doesn't pick up moments unless it's a tree or a plants cost way to much for something that just won't work properly. To access it on the mobile is impossible most of the time as it just keeps buffing, then it's too late after whatever you are trying to check on. We got 4 cameras, and three are out the front in different spots. One may pick up move ment the other will miss it. It also cuts out halfway through recording what's happening, then you have missed it all. DON'T BUY THIS

Dont waste your money!

JC00 December 25, 2021

Removed an older security camera system to install this Swann type. Had issues with the NVR internal storage straight away (was replaced under warranty) however the This system doesnt perform as well as my old one. Have constant wifi connection issues between the NVR and cameras. Cannot get more than 2 bars of signal in either AP or Mesh mode (2 cameras are less than 10 metres from base and 1 x has direct line of sight) I even removed the cameras and set them up sitting less than 1m from the NVR and still bad signal!! Usability with the Swann app is pretty poor. I Struggle to remote live view cameras even with phone connected to wifi, and have very limited camera control. Can view saved recodings fine direct through the NVR connected to TV but through the app it just constantly says its checking..... On a positive the Swann cameras do have good picture and the night vision works really well. I think maybe a full wired version may work alot better. Have spent several hours on the phone with tech support and not getting anywhere so after a few weeks of headaches ive bought an Arlo system and it is working perfect (all cameras have full signal, easy to use though the app, and connectivity is pretty much instant) Personally i wouldnt recommend this product.
