good

Bao Nguyen H September 8, 2025

NOW Glycine Pure Powder is a vegan product that supports energy production. Glycine is a non-essential amino acid and has the simplest structure of all amino acids, allowing it to fit easily within protein chains and make space for structurally larger amino acids. This feature makes it very important for specific bodily functions.

best value glycine

Adalib N August 18, 2025

This is the only glicine product that's affordable at the doses I need. I take 6-7 grams every night for sleep. I've tried many different sleep aids and this one works without scary side effects. I love this product so much. I'm so grateful to this company for this product. I'll probably use it the rest of my life.

Helps for sleep

Christine S July 18, 2025

So far, I like this glycine product. I mix 1-2 scoops (each scoop is only 1 gram or 1/4 tsp) in juice at night and I think it helps me to sleep better.

GLYCINE GLADLY

FitDoc1 May 31, 2015

I always add Glycine to all my Amino Acid cocktails. It mixes in everything easily, has a nice, naturally sweet taste, and participates with other Amino Acids (such as Glutamine, Lysine, Arginine, Ornithine) to build muscle, burn fat, improve one's physique and physical condition / strength / tone. A most important fact and benefit for me is that this group of Amino Acids is also utilized by the body to manufacture HGH (Human Growth Hormone), as well as the body's master anti-oxidant, Glutathione, and who doesn't want and need those super nutritional factors?! I consider these to be invaluable to my own anti-aging, life-extension program. You can read tons of very interesting and informative material online and everywhere these days about all of this. I started reading about it in the 1960s, and the volume of valuable material has increased exponentially since then. As a Swanson shopper, you are most likely interested in your health and wellbeing, so you will probably find all this Amino Acid, anti-aging, life extension material to your liking. I know I do.Glycine, being the smallest Amino Acid is bioavailable and readily utilized in every part of the body, so its importance throughout the body is significant, yet underappreciated. For all these reasons and more, I make sure to have a heaping tsp of Glycine powder in one of my healthy cocktails every day. Glycine is so easy to use, with that naturally sweet taste and easy miscibility, that even without having the time or opportunity to make a health cocktail / smoothie, it's a snap to just stir a tsp of Glycine powder into some water and drink it right down anytime. Personally, I always feel better / more comfortable when I have my Glycine. I've used it for many, many years. I definitely can recommend it to everyone. Works for me.

I am really beginning to like this brand...

Axle2 September 4, 2014

Why? because this amino-acid stuff is indeed high-quality. This is the second time that I have tried the Swansons Ultra Ajipure amino acids, and I must say, I am impressed by the purity and potency of both.\n\nLet me first-off say on this amino-acid product is not in pill form, but a beautiful white loose powder with what looks like it has shimmering tiny crystals in it. When I first got this, the small scoop that comes in the jar sank deep within the powder, and instead of just reaching in with my hands, I used a spoon to dig it out, so as to keep the amino acids as clean as possible.\n\nAs far as effectiveness goes, I cannot plainly answer that, as I am currently taking several supplements. But this stuff may be working subtlety on me; and I believe it is.\n\nAs far as cost? Great, considering that it is pharmaceutical-grade.\n\nOverall, I am very happy with this Swanson Ultra Ajipure line. The price seems excellent, and the purity is very promising. :)

Not seeing difference in memory, but helps with falling asleep

Diane C October 16, 2024

I don't see any change with my memory, but I do experience heavy drowsiness when I take 2 teaspoons. I usually take 2 scoops in my coffee every morning. It has a sweet taste. The scoop is tiny, so 2 scoops is just under a half teaspoon. And that amount doesn't cause drowsiness.

may help sleep

DonK May 6, 2013

I read that 3g of glycine may improve sleep quality. As a life-long sufferer of mediocre sleep, I decided to give it a try. So far I'm pleased, as it definitely doesn't hurt, and may help. I switched from melatonin to this product, and it seems that I'm sleeping as well, and waking up a bit earlier and more refreshed. A bonus is the sweet taste, which is surprising as many other amino acids are quite bitter in plain form.

Uncertain about this product

SaintPaul March 15, 2013

Glycine is often used to supplement prostate health along with l-alanine & glutamic acid, and I take glycine in certain proprietary formulations without issue. But I have serious reactions to this Anji product that build up with use over a week's time, which I have yet to figure out the reason for. I've attempted much smaller servings but the bad results are essentially the same, only more limited. And, I've tested this powder three different times out over a year with the same unfortunate results. Unfortunately I'm not certain if this is an individual response to Anji's particular formulation or glycine. I do tolerate other formulations though, which suggests the problem is with this product, or the particular batch.

Did not work for me

Chatuey May 24, 2013

As far as helping with my sleep, I did have the same results as the person that reviewed the product on March 16. It worked fine the first couple of days but it was keeping me awake on the 3rd and 4th day and I quit using it. I ordered from a different company and I have been using it for about 10 days with good results. I am extremely happy with Swanson but not with this particular product.
