It's an effective sweetener, but nowhere on the container does it say it's either RAW or UNFILTERED. Those are the two criteria that sets honey apart from ordinary sweeteners. The copy here on Swanson's site says that it not heat pasteurized, but the actual label does not. Heat treating will kill all bacteria, which includes beneficial probiotic bacteria. Unfiltered honey serves a similar purpose. You want pollen, enzymes, polyphenols, and pro- and pre-biotics to be preserved by being both unfiltered and raw. Because it is not labeled as such, I can't trust that this is either raw or unfiltered. If Swanson can guarantee that it is both raw and unfiltered, then I will change my review. It's a decent tasting and inexpensive honey, but without those guarantees, there are no special benefits to honey.

Swanson does a great job fulfilling orders or solving problems, but there is nothing the Customer Support people can do to make this taste better. IT IS BITTER. It initially is a good texture and sweet, but there is this bitter awful favor to it. I paid for two bottles, almost $20.00 and I had to throw it out. I could not eat it. It is just inedible. Buy beware on this one!
