Albion Copper is also known as copper bisglycinate. It is a highly absorbable form of copper, which is bonded to a protein with glycine to enhance the body's ability to absorb and utilize the copper supplement. So, you will need a lower dosage of this supplement when compared to many other brands. The 2mg tablet of this copper supplement is just about right for an adult, and more typical of a albion copper vs other copper supplements. I take this every other day and it noticeably helps to improve my skin elasticity and eliminate bleeding from dry cracked skin including peeling cuticles. Be careful not to overdose on copper, because it is possible to reach a level if copper toxicity which has negative health consequences. The proper level is different for each person. So, I highly recommend consulting a doctor or nutritionist before taking extra copper on a daily basis. There are tests that can be done to tell what the right level is for you. FYI - If you have copper water pipes in your home or well water, it is less likely that a copper supplement is necessary, especially if your copper pipes are relatively new or your water is slightly acidic. This is something that can also be tested.
I've been using this for several years now and my stomach and my gut has never been better.
Great probiotic, this is the only one my family likes me to purchase. My family feels this probiotic is helpful to their digestive system.
$13-ish for 240 caps seems reasonable_ 60 pcs per bottle times 4 bottles . The ones i ordered august 2025 have a best by date of 12-2026. Small bottles and small capsules- see pics
In May of 2019 a CatScan showed I had a Mild ascending aortic aneurysm measuring 4.5 CM in AP diameter. I immediately started taking copper. A cat scan taken on 3/18/2020 showed no change from a year ago. The copper supplement obviously worked as normally you would expect the aneurysm to increase.
I started taking this copper a year ago to try and boost my copper levels. Started taking 1 a day and then increased all the way up to 10mg a day (sort of the max safe limit). Before increasing the dose I would get a Copper Serum test with the same results I kept hovering between .66-.70. Finally I tried a different brand that used copper gluconate. That did the trick and my numbers jumped to .91. In all fairness to the product everything I read says that the metabolization of copper is one of the least understood processes in the body. Either way if you are trying to get your copper up this may not do the trick.
No matter my nutrition, prescription medication causes gut issues for me. Soon after I began taking this supplement, I noticed a vast improvement in my overall gut health. I simply take one capsule daily. On occasion, I have taken two capsules simultaneously when stress or diet causes a noticeable issue. I appreciate the purity of Swanson label supplements. I am grateful for the affordability of their products. I highly recommend this supplement for one's overall gut health.
My wife is lactose intolerant and has been taking these for quite some time now. As a result she is able to take vitamin D milk in her tea. (It's a British thing) She's also able to enjoy other dairy products that contain milk. (I think I also need to mention she does also take a teaspoon of probiotic yogurt on a daily basis.)
I don't have anything negative to say about. It's a good mix of probiotic cultures. Taking a run of probiotics on occasion is a good idea to maintain gut biome health. I recommend only ordering 1 or 2 bottles at a time; probiotics are live cultures and will degrade (keep unopened bottles refrigerated). It's also a good idea to make prebiotics a regular part of your diet to keep the gut biome well fed: kimchi is amazing for this as are some other fermented foods and FOS fiber sources.
I love these copper pills. I was taking a multimineral but for me I have to take things individually for them to work. I had taken theses a few years back and stopped . I recently retuned to them when they stop making my multi-mineral and I forgot how well they worked at helping me fight the aging process. As long as the formula stays the dame, I won't abandon them again.
