SAMe helped calm my brain

Kristina L March 29, 2025

SAMe and two other supplements helped me get a solid restful night sleep in about 2-3 months.

I only buy the 200 mg when you are out of the 400 mg that I have used for more than 10 years. I take 2 with the same results.

Best price around

Kham October 5, 2013

My vet recommended Sam-e for my dog. She has been taking it for six years. I did purchase Sam-e at a local drug store and paid much more for it until someone told me about Swanson's. She has taken the Swanson's brand Sam-e for over two years now and it works as well as a name brand at a quarter of the price.

Best Price Ever..

Sunnee June 30, 2014

My husband was told by his Doctor to start takingthis product. We saw the same product at one of the store's Dr. recommended. I checked your website and was so pleased with your price. You saved us a lot and my husband is a believer about why I shop Swanson's regularly.

Benefits to me and does as it is designed to do.

Cynthia1 December 14, 2015

II did a lot of reading on this product and decided to get the 200 mg rather than the 400 mg to have less chance of the 400 mg being too high. I did go ahead and take 2 200 mg tablets right away, however, and with no adverse effects. Also, the 200 mg physical size is "large" enough for me, and easier to take. I believe that this item is beneficial to me.

Effective for improving my mood, great value

Anonymous December 10, 2009

This Swanson-branded product was effective for me. It helped to improve my mood, especially when taken first thing in the morning as I got up. The price is also the best I've found.\n\nThe only small nit-pick I have with it is the packaging being a bit unwieldy. I've seen other Sam-e brands use the same type of blister packs, so I suppose there's a reason for it. They are large enough to take up a significant part of the room in a small bag.

I actually see a difference

kajj December 5, 2013

I had to take this for about 30 days before I saw a difference. I started with 400 a day for about 3 months but find that 200 a day oes the trick. I'm glad they package these in foil packs because I've read it's not a very stable product otherwise. I've also read that it's very important to take this with B vitamins which I do.

not satisfied

JJ88 December 23, 2014

I'd been using Costco's SAMe when I changed over to Swanson's. I immediately noticed a drop in effectiveness from the one day to next. Seemed I had to take twice the dose for a still unsatisfying effect. It did make me very drowsy, such that I could take it if I woke up early and would fall back into a deep sleep. Oddly, it didn't make me drowsy during the day...Overall, I prefer the Costco. Don't know why it'd be so different?

Take out the methacrylic acid copolymer propylene glycol!

Linda N. December 3, 2021

Come on Swanson! These were Ok and they worked. But when you added methacrylic acid copolymer and propylene glycol to the inactive ingredients, that let them out for me! Go back to the inactive ingredients you use to use (and no mannitol either!), and I will go back to the Swanson brand. SAMe is a vital supplement for me due to a genetic condition.
