I used this speed square to build my outdoor bar and I was very impressed overall with the quality and ease of use that it provided on the job. I am used to using a metal speed square but this held up perfectly for what I needed it for. I am glad that it is part of my tool set and I would absolutely recommend this tool!

I have always had the old aluminum speed squares which are fine but they way more. When you weight is a factor for your carry on tool bag you tend to look for lighter options to be able to keep working without getting fatigued. This hard plastic one fits the bill nicely and has all the same features as its metal counterpart with the added benefit of being bright yellow. Not so easy to misplace as my other tools.

This tool is so handy to have around. It is 5 tools in one! Its made really well so you don't have to worry about breaking it. If you are a carpenter, this is a tool you could use everyday. Sometimes the writing is hard to read if its sunny outside, but overall it is a great tool.

I like that this Square is super light weight yet very sturdy. The numbers and degrees are imbedded so they won't wear off easily so overall it should last a long time. The low weight helps when carrying it around. It's quick to implement and set down after without worry of scratching surfaces due to the composite material.

I like this speed square. The bright yellow makes it easy to find when needed and it has a good size numbering in it. I am older and use bifocals, so I appreciate the larger numbering. I've had several aluminum ones and time will tell if it hold up to abuse like they have.

This 8 inch speed square is made of high density plastic. It works well enough if you need a quick tool for marking perpendicular lines or checking to make sure you have square corners this thing will do the job. Has all the features you would expect in a typical speed square.

I have not received this yet but i do have one exactly like it. Thats why i know if like a new one. Pretty durable.. doesnt really bend like metal and slides smooth along edges. Bright yellow makes it easily noticeable when you hang it up or put it in tool box.

This Swanson square is 5 tools in one: try square, miter square, protractor, line scriber and saw guide. The common use for a speed square is as a try square. You place a mark on a board and you mark the line from one side of the board to the other for cutting. This square is made from high-impact polystyrene for strength and longevity. It is yellow in color, which makes it hard to miss (since it doesn’t ‘blend in’ with other colors). Also, it has a one year warranty. Interestingly enough, the speed square was invented by Albert J. Swanson in 1925. So this company has a rich history in the construction industry. If you are unfamiliar with the use of the speed square, there are books & websites with the needed information. The only downside in my opinion to this tool is that the reference marks stamped into the tool are not filled with a color different form the body of the tool. So the marks don’t stand out from the yellow body of the tool. This makes it difficult to easily find the marks. Some tools have the marks filled with black ink. However, this is a non-issue if you don’t use the tool as a protractor. This is a good product. I like it, recommend it and give it **** (4) stars.
