This speed square is perfect, for home or on a contractor job.

Great speed square. Well made aluminum metal. Well marked with black paint. I make bird houses and this enables fast quality cutting lines and 45 degree markings. Very accurate square. I guess you could say its for the birds... LOL

Seems like a good quality build a gift for my younger brother.

This is made from solid steel and is very heavy not one of the cheap plastic ones thet break all the time its is laser etched and all munbers and lines are extremly east to read and use

I can be pretty hard on tools and I love this one. It's what I consider an heirloom tool; a tool that if I don't loose it, it will be handed down for generations. The very solid, very thick aluminum is such you would really have to try hard to damage it...I stepped on one of my plastic squares and killed it. Its also what I consider a full-function square. There are squares I have owned in the past that are simply that, a square that helps you mark/cut a 90 degree line. This square has all of the functions of a square with multiple angles, ruler, guided marks, etc. Don't know how to use the other features? It has a book. Nice high-contrast paint-in-the-etch markings round out the features making it unnecessary to squint and angle the light to make sure you read it right.

The Swanson 7 inch speed square is the perfect tool for carpentry, making lines, ensuring that you have the correct angles and measurements. It can also be used to help cut straight lines with a circular saw. Some jobs may require a larger square, but seven inches is perfect for most household uses. The lettering of the square is a good contrast for easy visibility, and the metal is not too shiny, so it can be used in direct sunlight. The Swanson Speed square also comes with a very handy reference manual to assist with calculations.

I like this speed square. The bright yellow makes it easy to find when needed and it has a good size numbering in it. I am older and use bifocals, so I appreciate the larger numbering. I've had several aluminum ones and time will tell if it hold up to abuse like they have.

Square tools are great for all sorts of building products were you need to make perfect 90 degree angles. But they are also great for determining all sorts of angles between 0 and 90 degrees. In addition, this can be used as a straight edge, or a saw guide. I have not used it as a saw guide yet, but it does make for a good straight edge, though it is a little thicker than a ruler. The book that comes with this is a nice little guide any beginner handyperson should have.

It's a speed square. Made of aluminum. Markings are bold and engraved— they should remain legible longtime even with repeated abuse. I really like the hard-copy booklet. Though made for roofing, speed squares can do so much more. (find on You Tube). I'd like those in hard copy also.

This is exactly like other speed squares I have purchased before. If you need a speedsquare, this will do the job. I mostly use mine for marking square lines on lumber before cutting. It is also handy the hold against wood as a guide while cutting with a circular saw.
