Very easy to use. Has magnets for metal posts or a rubber band for other materials the magnets aren't attracted to. Bubbles are very clear and centered well. It's very light and it fits in a small 13” tool box with the tray.
My purchase of Swanson Tool Co. Magnetic Post Level with Elastic Band, Yellow Composite, Model PL001M, was a great choice. Works with wood or metal posts. I bought two, so I can see all side of the post. Probable over kill, I normally work by myself and using two I don't worry about what side of the post I am on, to see the leveling bubbles. They are well made.
Well built and better design than other brands for attaching to t-posts square lumber posts
Works great too level two by fours and four by fours. Very easy to use.
works very well, nice design, and easy to see the bubbles.
Best choice for hands free leveling for those projects around the home or at work, and I can count on SWANSONS magnatic level for both. At work the highly visible and easy to read magnetic level is exactily what we need when pounding our metal signs in for the county, and it's just as handy for those projects at home. Whether you're building an addition or just putting in a flag pole, I rely on SWANSON magnetic level so much, I ordered another one for my toolbox at home.
This Swanson Magnetic Post Level is a tool to consider part of your collection of tools you may rarely use around your home and often around the work site. It's inexpensive, but well made. Plastic body is hard and reasonably ridgid. The 90 degree angle on the inside is very close, off by just a hair measured at top, bottom and center. The magnets are fairly strong on metal, but not so much on alloys. An elastic (plastic) band is included to help on alloy, plastic and wood posts. The band is not very durable. The level vials are pretty accurate. The model number is PL001M and is made in China. Please note that the surface my pictures were taken is not level.
I do construction from time to time and this product was nice for this job. I was framing a house and I used this level for convenience. Very durable and preformed beyond what i thought it could handle. I dropped it a bunch of times on concrete and was amazed how durable. I definitely would recommend this product.
This is very cheaply made. It was sent to me in an envelope so it didn't stand a chance of making it unscathed to my door. It arrived in pieces and was unusable. However, I've used this type of tool before and this one was not well made. Very thin plastic which, of course, was broken on arrival. Even the rubber band was thin! I definitely DO NOT recommend this product.
Not square, you have to press it against the post to make it square. It will read different depending on where you hold it (top, bottom or middle) you can do better with a standard carpenter level.
