Love using this to make my homemade chicken noodle soup. So simple. RECIPE: 1-3 stalks of celery ( finely chopped), 3-4 diced carrots 🥕, one onion 🧅, one bag of egg noodles, and one box of chicken broth. Add a pinch of salt( to your taste). Bring to a bowl until vegetables and noodles are tender. Serve warm. Excellent for what ails you!!! Enjoy!
I am picky about my unsalted chicken broth so I tend to stick with Swanson as I like the flavor. Broth is usually expensive at Walmart but they do have price reductions from time to time. Other groceries have sales and digital coupons that keep it at 2.00 so varies as to where I shop.
It’s good and has the least amount of sodium per serving than any other chicken broth. I use it to rehydrate almost everything I reheat in the microwave. It’s also great in a marinade and doesn’t add as much sodium.
The amount of sodium in the broth was perfect, the taste perfect the quality perfect thank you for when somebody listen about the amount of sodium in things
I'm not sure what happened to my original review. I'll write an additional review. I buy this chicken broth often. It's a staple in my household. It has many uses, but I use it primarily when I make my crockpot Turkey Stew. It's reasonably priced and I like Swanson's brand of chicken broth. I usually purchase 3 boxes online when I do my shopping. I like the fact that it's basically unsalted. I highly recommend this brand!😋
I love that Walmart carries the unsalted version. I actually use it for my dog and needed low sodium. I saw the unsalted and thought I would try it. It has a great chicken flavor and I don't notice a huge difference from the regular. And my dog loves it in her food!!
This is my go-too for many things, and I have to have the Unsalted of this so I get the smallest amount of sodium.. If I have diarrhea, upset stomach, or am having back problems and laying down, this is the broth I use. It nourishes, but is filling and gentile on the stomach. I always keep spares of this around because it keeps for awhile and tastes good, too.
I didn’t know how many stars to put in the salty category as it is unsalted. Walmart had a great sale going on so I bought 6 to use for soups and things. Great taste and since it is unsalted you get to control how much salt is in your dish.
This is great for soups or other recipes especially if you are on a sodium restricted diet. Has a great taste without all the salt. Will definitely purchase again.
So I recently did a taste comparison of the 3 common low-salt Broth/Stock available at my Walmart, Great Value, Swanson, %26 Kitchen Basics. Here's my results: Great Value: %231 Pricing ($1.27/Qt), Fairly Clear Light Amber Color, Has the least amount of Chicken Flavor, %232 in Lowest Salt (45mg), %26 %233 in Taste... Swanson: %232 Pricing ($2.27/Qt), Cloudy Yellow Color, %231 Lowest Salt (35mg), %232 in Taste... Kitchen Basics (This one is listed as Stock, NOT Broth): %233 Pricing ($2.98/Qt), Fairly Clear Amber Color, %233 Lowest Salt (120mg), %231 in Taste.***Note: Also uses the most Natural Ingredients... OVERALL: Swanson Broth isn't bad; it does has some taste to it, it has the lowest amount of salt, %26 it was %232 for price. If Walmart ever runs out of the Kitchen Basics (My New "Goto" Broth/Stock), I'd replace it with Swanson's, without hesitation. Overall, I give it Mid to High-Marks all around...
