A dependable can opener for travel.
I always purchase brand of can opener. From my great-grandmother to my daughter thexwomen of our family have always depended on Swing away in theirckitchen.

ta get food outa a can

When I pulled it off the cardboard backing and opened then closed it, the cutting edge of the blade bumped into the spur wheel that advances the can against the blade. When I looked more closely at it, I discovered the bushing for the spur wheel is loose in the frame. That's the first time I ever saw this on one of these Swing A Way can openers. How did this ever pass QC?

Disappointed
Swing-A-Way used to be a good brand. I was very disappointed in this can opener as it only cut with great difficulty. I could not even cut all the way around the can! I used a pair of pliers to wrench the lid open far enough to get some of the contents out.

The handle is too small for people with large hands. You need torque to make any can opener work. My old Swing-Away had a 3.5 inch handle; the new one 2.5 inches. The new one has 30% less circumference, that is, 40% more effort. Life should get easier, not harder

cheaply made
Very lightly made compared to my old swing away. Not same quality. I will look elsewhere for better quality product. Do not buy unless you need something cheap for camping.
