Swing-Mate® Porch Swing Springs

Perfect! It adds a nice soft bounce to my swing and I weigh 220 lbs.

Finally got my swing hung up and these springs made all the difference! Gives my swing just the right amount of bounce!!

I ordered the wrong size but these will be used for a future project.

Makes swing feel comfortable!

I purchased these along with a porch swing, and debated whether I should get them or not. If you are having the same dilemma, I would recommend these highly! They make a big difference in the comfort of the swing overall (and do not make it too ""bouncy""), and is a little extra money well spent.

These metal porch swings came free with our Great American Cedar Mission Porch Swing and do indeed make it more comfortable by adding a little bit of bounce to the seating. I don't know if we would have paid to buy them separately, but since they were included with the swing, they were a great deal!

Standard springs remain fully compressed until the weight on them crosses a threshold, then they expand. If you bounce, the spring hits a hard stop on the way up. These are always in some tension and allow for a smooth ride no matter how much, or how little weight is on them. I'm glad I read the review here, or I would have cut some garage door springs and had inferior performance.

I had received a new cedar swing, hannd built for mrfor my fathers day gift from my children. it weighs about 50 lbs, and we placed the typical springs sold at [@], which were internal compression type springs. I knew I wanted heavy extension type springs instead, so I found them on hayneedle. Its like the difference between riding in a escalade, verses a 1963 beetle. no comparrison to the comfort i now have as i swing. worth everypenny spent. ordered and was swingingwith new springs in 2 days. praise God I found hayneedle. willuse them again.

These springs give a nice smooth cushion feel to the swing when installed. however, one of the springs has a squeaky sound when the swing in motion. It could be the spring, or it could be the hook that is mounted in the ceiling, I'm not quite sure yet. Otherwise, I would recommend.

The swings give the swing some ""give"" and ""bounce."" I takes away some ""squeak and creak"" of many swings. I ordered a swing, springs and a cushion. I wish I had known the springs were silver and the swing chain is gold. I'd rather have both be one color, or at least know ahead of time in case there was an option. [...]
