Swisher ESP Storm Shelter, 9 Person Capacity

Had a storm hit very close to home. Decided to get a shelter large enough for the family and a dog. Ended up finding this 9 person shelter and decided to give it a try. It is better than I was expecting! This has to be one of the best engineered buildings I have ever seen. I didn't have to pry to "stretch" holes or anything. Everything went together very smoothly and lined up great. I did do a couple of things a little different than the instructions state. To start, I installed all the anchor bolts in the floor after drilling the holes. I don't understand waiting until it's finished assembling. The anchor bolts help to hold the heavy pieces in place at the floor while assembling. The next was the door track. I assembled the track and placed on the door before trying to move the door into place. This door is heavy!! I couldn't see being able to lift the door into place with the extended support bolts on the trolly rollers. The door frame is kind of deep and lifting it into place on an angle while trying to slide the holes over long bolt threads didn't seem like the best way. Anyway, after getting everything assembled, this thing is great. I will say it has quite an echo and reverb sound inside. There is a warning decal to wear earplugs. I can see why! I will probably insulate the walls or spray some sound deadener on it to cut the reverb down. Also, I added some angle iron brackets so that I could place a shelf along the top portion and some pegboard for little baskets to hold stuff. I have added battery powered lights and will soon add a small tv so I can keep up with the weather. I am pleased with my purchase! Thank you, for a great product.

Easy to assemble, fast delivery. extremely heavy duty and almost impossible to become trapped inside My best like is that the door slides to the side and does not swing in or out.. My wife's sister was killed in a tornado so every time we have a watch she is terrified. Installing the safety shelter has relieved her fear. She walks into the garage, sits inside and closes the door.

I work in a aerospace CNC machine shop where we have tight tolerances and have to fit together accordingly. This project went together flawlessly and I understand what they did and why it is built this way. I am very impressed with it! I have giving many "tours" through it and my friends and family were impressed also. This is a class act shelter.

We lived in SC and we got a couple scares of tornado or severe storms and our house was just a double wide and didn't feel secure. After doing some research we found this safety shelter and the key part for us that it was in pieces cause where I needed/wanted to put it no trucks could drive. Very well constructed and extremely secure. We have no doubt that if the time ever came that our family would be protected

Nicely built. Instructions were pretty good - however, I propose a YouTube video in the future! :). Solidly built and the door operation is very smooth - any child could open and close it. I think for the price, well worth the feeling of security.
