Swiss Tech 18-inch Sawtooth Machete, Titanium-Coated Stainless Steel Blade, Green

This is my second Swiss Tech product that I have purchased from Walmart. My previous Swiss Tech purchase through Walmart was such a positive experience, that I decided to purchase the Hacken as I was in need of a good, quality machete to clear vegetation from my property. Like a previous Swiss Tech product I ordered, the Hacken arrived on time in an attractive box. The box details the features of the Hacken in a clear, concise, and informative fashion. The Hacken arrived with its blade sharp and ready to put into service. I had no problems hacking through vegetation with this tool. It works! The saw is phenomenal! It too is very sharp and cut through small branches with ease. Unlike a previous machete I used before, the blade on the Hacken is thicker and with less flex. It feels solid when using it. The handle is comfortable and covered with a grippy rubber type material that feels solid in the hand when working. After working with it for a while, no hot spots developed on my hands resulting in no blisters. That is a good thing. A lanyard with a paracord type material is also provided which can be very handy. The Hacken comes with a fire starting ferro rod. See the attached photo for its location at the base of the handle. Pressing the button will release the ferro rod. And yes, the ferro rod actually works. When yours arrives, give it a go and see for yourself. Finally, the sheath is made of a plastic type material. The Hacken fits perfectly and securely in it (as expected). A blade sharpener is also built into the sheath. I use stones for blade sharpening, but in a pinch this built-in sharpener would be better than a dull blade. Overall, Swiss Tech impresses again with another quality sharp tool at a very affordable price of $29.97. I like companies that make quality products at affordable prices, and Swiss Tech is one of them. Recommended!

Great machete! Use it all the time for yard work and whacking palm tree limbs. Very sharp! The saw blade edge is very sharp and useful as well. Comes with a very nice sheath that is attachable to the hip with a belt. The handle also holds a nice fire striker and the sheath comes with a nice carbide sharpener. I would highly recommend this product. If they make a larger one, I'll be purchasing a larger model!

I read that it was to be one length, when the blade is indeed actually 13" long from the very tip to the start of hilt. Now that that is straightened out, let me say that even my husband was thoroughly impressed! It takes a lot to impress the both of us and SwissTech managed to do it. Granted the saw blade on the back of the blade seemed a bit much, but after a little handling I think my husband is wanting 1 for his own. (Guess who's getting 1 after we get resettled?)

sturdy blade and handle. I've been abusing this blade and it just keeps going! i love it and bought a second for my camping gear!

everything is nice but if you are whacking something the flint fire starter fly out because of the button placement

I love the balance and design of this machete, sharp as can be, and a great sheath and value for what you're getting.

Excellent product, quick shipping. So far all is good. I have been using mine to clear some brush around the house along with some sod cutting and everything is holding up well. The Swiss Tech line has been great for me and the designs of all their products are innovative.

I really like it, just wish it came with some straps so it doesnt flop around too much on your belt. Love the built in firestarter but not sure if they sell replacements for it of you use it up.
