Considering how much light the built-in LED bulbs provide, I think 23 watts is the ideal amount for a floodlight. There hasn't been any flickering of the light because they are made for LEDs and have their own built in. They were simple to install and a simple way to replace my outdated floodlights. It works effectively in the movable section where the light turns on.
