Very helpful with some line of sight issues. Give your cat a little treat every time you successfully locate your critter and eventually they learn to come to you when your receiver makes contact with the cats receiver. It helps when you have learned the various areas they hang out.

We received the package very quickly. The setup was easy. Now, when our lil dude jumps that fence we'll find him with ease. We did test it indoors on him and his sister, they like to hide, and we found them effortlessly. TY for making this product. It'll definitely be used, A LOT. :)

It works and works great. My cat who is normally pretty good will slip off our hill and down into a small town below us. The side of the hill has deer and sometimes raccoons, skunks and coyotes so I keep close tabs on my cat. I can find him quickly and retrieve his fat butt. The tracker is easy to use and doesn't fail unless you wash the receiver like I did and had to buy another. Would be great if the receiver was sold alone cu now I have 3 collar units I don't need Great product no matter what tho.

I got these for a long trip to my parents' rural house so I could bring two cats and feel safer letting them outside there. After a while of acclimation I let them go outside and the wonderful thing was, I was able to find them at the end of each day using the trackers. They are pretty tame but streetwise so I don't know about letting just any cat out in a strange area, but it worked perfectly for me! You go outside and it's a treasure hunt; as you walk around, the handheld starts beeping obviously and lighting up as you get closer. The beeping is a little bit better indicator than the lights but I use it both ways. The piece on the collar also beeps - but it's very quiet, so if I hear it, I know I'm about on top of them (sometimes literally because they're under the deck). I could imagine if your cat is a super traveler, it might take a while to find the first signal. My kitties stay within 25-50 yds so far. Reasonable price, cheaper would be better. I recommend trying it out before you need it. Fantastic purchase for me.

Someone at Walmart looked at this returned package and sent it out knowing that it was in poor condition. The controller had obviously been used for a couple of years or more as it has one of those velvety rubber surfaces that gets really sticky after use. Walmart should not have accepted this return from someone who probably bought a new one and swapped out the controller and returned it. Nevertheless, I called Tabcat's customer support and they graciously sent me a new controller without argument. I don't think the range on this is anywhere near the 400 yard range that's advertised. I suspect it's closer to about 200 feet, but then I may have received used transmitters with an old battery and put one of them on my cat. I can't tell you about battery life, but I suspect it's fine. I would have given five stars if Walmart had sent me a new package as Tabcat support is very good. I have used it a few times to find my cat likes to go up on the roof. The funny thing about it is after spending the money on this unit my cat doesn't seem to want to go out so much anymore. I think perhaps wearing a collar with a relatively bulky item on it is unfashionable and she would be embarrassed if seen by other animals. I think it's a good product.
