It's really good.. I didn't have any of the issues as mentioned below. You can't be too picky with this.. it IS microwaved. You're not going to get some 5 star restaurant type dish.. but I think it tastes really good.
I stumbled upon this product a week or so ago, and bought it because I had never heard of it before. It absolutely exceeded all of my expectations; it is restaurant quality, has simple and easy preparation, and has ideal portion sizes.
I eat this food all the time and I personally think its good. People say that its too moosy and greasy but I never had a problem with. I recommend buying this if your craving Chinese food.
Nothing bad to say about this company. I was actually surprised it didn't taste like the cardboard it was microwaved in. As others mentioned, it's about 1/2 rice - maybe more, sauce not bad and barely any beef which did taste good and not tough. My recommendation would be to purchase from your favorite Chinese restaurant and freeze in microwavable containers. Better yet, order it without broccoli and add your own fresh pieces, or substitute with green bell pepper. Bon appétit...
But the beef has come out a little tough every time I make it. I follow the directions, then tried to deviate a little and still in order to get the rest of it cooked, the beef comes out tough. Still tastes good though!
This product COULD be amazing and I love Chinese food but it seemed like it was slopped together like at a school cafeteria.. Very bland ...cooked weird.. Texture off..Just something that would fill you up if it was all you had.. People at this company really need to taste test their food cause it was lacking that delicious Chinese taste.. I BELIEVE with improvement and changing the receipt up they can make a superior beef and broccoli... Also, there was too much rice.. Not proportioned well...
After trying the Chicken fried rice, I was very excited to give the Beef and broccoli a try. Sadly the Beef and broccoli did not live up to my expectations. After cooking as directed, I was left with a watery meal. There was no flavor except for the odd flavor of the sauce, which was not enjoyable at all. I wish that they would have added more beef as well as more food altogether. The taste was bad, the texture was off, and the amount of food they put in it is just not enough.
To start, just know that I am sometimes called "the garbage disposal" by friends as I will eat pretty much anything, even stuff that others dislike and plan on tossing. I also was in the military am used to eating low-quality, highly processed and preserved foods. Now about this product, where do I start? First, it shouldn't be called Beef & Broccoli ("with steamed rice" in tiny print beneath). It should be called Rice with Beef & Broccoli. This product was, by weight, about two-thirds rice. Second, the flavor was just bad. And remember, I eat almost anything, but I didn't finish this. I ate about half and then had cereal instead. My girlfriend only ate one bite. The texture is bad as well, the sauce is "goopy" and the broccoli was horribly mushy. I've had plenty of frozen broccoli and it's never been like that. Lastly, the product is advertised on the nutritional panel as having 2.5 servings. How they came to that conclusion is a mystery. The box is definitely a single person meal and I can certainly see many not getting filled up completely, even if eating the whole box.
i had only been eating it for a little bit, but i cant eat it anymore. like other had said, it is 2/3 rice, mushy broccoli, and only a teaspoon of meat (if thats what you want to call it). problem i have is the onions, there is more onions than actual broccoli or beef. i dont like onions, but i didnt have a problem eating this at first. the onions were soft, sweet, and a twist from the crunchy harsh taste of them in other foods. like i said, i hadnt been eating it very long, when they increased the amount of onions, to the point, all you taste is onion! BLECH! No Thanks, and you lost a customer!
I have to totally agree with the review titled "Horrible taste, texture, and value". I brought it to work and am so glad no one saw me eat it, because I would've been embarrassed. I felt like I lost a bet. I had low expectations, but this still surprised me. I've had about a dozen different instant Asian noodle dishes and I'd take every single one of them over this thing. It stinks that I bought three of them before trying one. I don't know what I'm going to do with the other two. Everyone knows I'll eat almost everything, but this is bad
