Tap (DVD)

First off, if you are a fan of tap dancing you really need to have this movie. Gregory Hines was more than incredible as a dancer %26 actor in this movie. There are at least six much older dancers in this movie including Sammy Davis Jr who performed like they were still in their twenties. The story isn't anything amazing or different. Hines gets out of prison, goes back to his old girlfriend and all the old dancers and starts hanging with them and dancing magnificently. But his old criminal friends want him to do more robberies and he's torn between which one to do. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out the rest because it's not that difficult to do. Again, the main reason to get this movie is to see all of the old dancers and Gregory Hines dancing in top form. There is no shortage of dancing in this movie. The story and dancing balance each other well. The music, the dancing, the acting and the story are all first rate. The DVD has an excellent clear sharp picture, the sound is good for a 1989 movie. There are subtitles %26 it's Anamorphic Widescreen. A great dance movie for under $10. Get it!

This is a really good movie. You have to see it. Gregory Hines is a great tap dancer, and that is an understatement . Plus, you can't forget about Sammie Davis Jr. This movie is a classic, I hope that you will buy it and enjoy it and come back and leave a review!

Gregory Hines with Sammy D. Wow. Great storyline.

How fast it came and the product was perfect. I didn't like how the mail carrier just threw it over my fence though.

Very good product

This is an incredible movie in so many ways. You have Sammy Davis Jr., Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, and a host of other famous "HOOFER" from back in the day all in one picture. The way that this movie flows makes you want to get up and dance. It's a must have for any serious collection.

I love this movie and the only reason I bought it on DVD is because the tape I have of it was starting to wear out. Now, I can watch it as many times as I like without having to worry about the tape getting worse.

I have wanted to see this movie for a very long time as I have always liked Gregory Hines (Loved him in White Nights) I do think the pace of the movie was much slower than I had thought it would be and it unfortunately is not one I would recommend anyone to buy even if they also like Gregory Hines. For me the best part of the movie was seeing all those old timers that I remember from when I was young in the 80's and it's always great to see Sammy Davis Jr. in something. Also has "Howard Sandman" Sims

The story line is ok but the tap dancing is great. It's awesome to see so many great tap dancers in one movie.
