Greatest bags ever! I've been using a Turgus 15” Newport Convertible Tote/Backpack - Black bag for approximately four years and didn't want to switch brands, so I bought 15” Newport Ultra Slim Laptop Backpack - Black bag for a change as I'm so in love with it. There's no way I could ever prefer another brand. This bag is ideal for me. The minimalist laptop bag is stylish and ideal for office workers and students.
Love that it's so thin. Still getting used to the straps but prefer lighter weight over heavy straps.
Nice and slim but holds all you need. Orange lining ensures you can find contents quick.
I just bought this backpack like 2 days ago and I find the bag really slim yet you can put in all the essentials you need. My purpose was to make my load on my back light because of back pain, the lesser weight is better because my Macbook Pro 16' itself is already heavy so having a lightweight backpack is a priority but that doesn't sacrifice protection on my Mac. For durability, I am not sure how long this bag will hold in the future. But looking on how it is made it would probably last long.
This bag is a "back" saver. I have herniated disc so I needed a lighter backpack for my already heavy Dell laptop (15.6"). This bag is a bit on the expensive side but it is totally worth it. It is very lightweight and slim. Being slim is a plus cause I don't hit anyone in the subway or train. The orange lining inside gives it a pop of color instead of the boring black or grey color so that is a plus for this bag. My only complaint is the strap isn't padded so it is a bit uncomfortable if I'm wearing sleeveless top. But it's an easy remedy, just bought a pair of neoprene strap padding and problem solved. But hopefully Targus adds a bit of a light padding on the straps to make it more comfortable.
Lovely and stylish, cool pockets. Wish it were 20L
I am 49-year old petite woman who would prefer to carry a stylish leather tote - I have not owned a backpack since I was a kid! However, my new "hybrid" work schedule is requiring me to carry a lot of heavy stuff back and forth to the office, including a 15" laptop, and I needed better solution. So, I took everyone's advice and searched for a backpack. I tried different styles, but they were all too heavy or made me look like a turtle. But this bag is the perfect size and very lightweight! It fits my laptop along with a few essentials (phone, wallet, small umbrella, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, etc.). And I can slide papers and file folders in the back pocket (which doubles as a sleeve that slips over the top of a suitcase when unzipped from the bottom). The *only* things I don't love are that the straps are not padded as advertised, so they bite the skin a little, and the adjustable buckles also sometimes slide down and pinch my shoulders when taking the bag on and off. Finally, the little side pocket is great for my metro card but a little too tight for my phone, so I put my phone and keys in the large external pocket, which is a little hard to access due to the hidden zipper and the tightness of the pocket (and I have tiny hands!). I think two smaller pockets would've worked better on the outside. All in all, it's a great slim backpack, and I love the bright orange interior! Also, two work colleagues already have commented on how "chic" it looks!
Great but could be better on the secure front. I dropped the back from about 1.2m height and the laptop in the bag was smashed. For some reason I expect there to be a thin lining of cussion at the bottom like other targus bags.
