I love it as an alternative to bagged popcorn. It takes just a little bit longer to cook than what you buy at the store , but it's worth it to be able to make your popcorn the way you want it. I also love it because I can make half the amount of popcorn when you don't want as much.
This is actually my third one. The first one we had a couple years. The second one we had a few months. They broke because my family is clumsy, lol. They're made well, but they're glass and we had some unfortunate accidents. I have seen some plastic microwave popcorn bowls but I don't like cooking thigs in plastic like that so I'm sticking to the glass, even if we are clumsy, I don't have to worry about toxins leeching in. The glass is also very easy to clean, it doesn't absorb odors or flavors. The first two were half the size of this one and popped about 2 cups. I saw this bigger one %26 snapped it up (there was one even bigger than this (2 qts/8 cups I think), I might get that in the future for convenience when company is over. These are way better than the microwavable popcorn bags. It's cheaper to keep buying the bags of plain kernels, you get so much more out of them. So easy to use, just measure %26 throw the kernals in and put it in the microwave for a few minutes. Also you can customize your seasonings/butter/etc. You don't even need to use any fat at all, I just add a sprinkle of salt the minute it comes out of the microwave while still hot and the salt melts on the hot popcorn.
Very nice item. Dishwasher safe. Problem is, it's too tall to fit in my microwave! Not a problem! I needed an excuse to buy a bigger, more powerful microwave. Hidden bonus 😎(I have a cheap 700W)
This works well and is my preferred way of making popcorn now PFAS free. It takes a little longer in the microwave and does leave some more unpopped kernels, but otherwise I am pleased. I use it almost every day. The larger size is better. The popcorn tastes much better than a Dash air popper I tried.
Arrived on time and in overall good shape, with one exception. There is a band just under the top that connects the top of the handle. It's made to snap together near the top of the handle. If you try to pick the popper up by the handle it easily separates. Since you need to use pot holder to take it out of the microwave when hot, I just don't grab the handle. Just place a pot holder or oven mitt on each side of the the glass popper. Otherwise, it pops nicely and is attractive.
It works ok, but it seems to have a lot of kernals that haven't popped. It could be my microwave. i have adjusted the times here and there, but didn't seem to make a different.
We own the small version of this popcorn popper and we love it but thought it would be best to have a larger one. The large one does not pop all the kernels. tried it several times with different microwave times. We'll just go back to our small one.
This popcorn popper truly sucks. I make popcorn every night and wanted to try this one because it was glass instead of the silicone one I normally use. You cannot pop more than a teaspoon of kernels at a time or it burns. Save your money and skip this one.
This was terrible. The plastic melted off the pot in my microwave and got my microwave so hot it fried it. Only popped around half the kernels. Straight into the trash this went.
Kinda annoying to buy something, and wait a week to only receive it in the wrong color. Didn't return it because I'm not doing that again. Other than that, it's okay. Good amount of popcorn with the lid measuring. The design is a little weird for cleaning but manageable, just awkward to me personally. I recommend it if they send the right color, it's cute.... Sorry, I'm still so bitter about not getting the pink one.
