that new flavors taste good

DonnaR March 9, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is the first time we tried Indian food didn't even know what Paneer was. I have to tell you that I am definitely surprised at how good this was me and my husband eat it as a side dish without chicken and it was absolutely delicious.

Addicting

Georgia July 2, 2026

I have this with basmati rice about once a week. The Indian spices combined with the spinach and cheese are addicting. And it's vegetarian!

Tasty with a bit of a kick

ShrDha November 14, 2025

This was a little spicier than I expected - at the edge of my comfort zone, but my husband loved it. I loved the flavor and I think if I had made some raita to cool my mouth I would have been fine. Next time!

Good Way to Get My Green Leafy Veggies

JudyK June 22, 2025

I'm happy to get the nutrition. To me, it tastes fine and is convenient. Due to soy restrictions, I would prefer no paneer.

Not very tasty at all

JenM February 28, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Indian food and spinach paneer is my typical go-to when I order Indian food from a restaurant or buy it in the frozen food section. The one pouch I received microwaved nicely and heated through in one minute without splattering. Unfortunately the food itself has very little flavor. I couldn't taste any spices and the only thing that stood out was salt. The ingredients list says spices but doesn't specify what they are. The spinach was watery. I wouldn't eat this again or recommend it.

Best prepared with a good rice dish

AmyL April 2, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: shelf stable, quick and easy to make, doesn’t take up a lot of space, good ingredients. Cons: watery texture and consistency so a good (and not watery rice) is highly recommended. Not very flavorful. I wouldn’t reach for this if I was hungry. I like paneer, but the consistency was not to my liking.

Bland, bland, bland

Tanya March 8, 2024

Sometimes people are afraid to eat South Asian food because of the spice. But if “The Waltons”, playful puppies, oatmeal and Ovaltine are too spicy for you, this product is right up your street. It’s plain spinach— no flavoring nor spices, with paneer. I’ve never eaten the like in all my life. And I won’t again—unless I have to be polite at someone’s house.

Yuck

Erin November 4, 2023

Lacks flavor and substance. Tastes like a bowl of soggy, unseasoned spinach. I would not buy this one again, even though I like the dish normally. This packaged version just is not good.

Had a strange smell when I heated two of the three packets I ordered. Pretty bland and watery. The paneer was very rubbery. Nothing like a Kashmiri spinach. (which I guess I should have thought about since it's a heat and eat packet). Leaves a plastic taste when you heat it in the packet (according to instructions on the back). Their other tandoori rice is good (compared to heat and eat standards). But id stay away from this specific product in the future.
