Taylor Compact Waterproof Digital Pen Thermometer with Lanyard

I bought this to replace one that I bought about 5 years ago. It’s my favorite thermometer. Easy to use, easy to clean, battery life lasts a long time.

In my mash tun there's a closed-end copper tube sticking out of the inside. This thermo works perfectly for tracking the mash temp just by sticking the sensor probe into the tube from the outside. Being water resistant and anti microbial is perfect for this application.

This is a good thermometer. It was delivered quickly. However, the one sent to me was grey but the online photo was red, which I'd rather have, as it would be much easier to find in kitchen drawer.

This thermometer worked great for me. It is easy to store and comes with a secure cover that is definitely a must when looking for it in a drawer. My only complaint was it was a bit slow but accurate.

It is not instant, it is slow. Works fine but it is slow....

I have other thermometers but I needed one that would yield "instant" results. I would be happy with 5 seconds or less but this takes much longer. I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe if you spend more you'll do better than I did with this.

I bought it because I work in the food industry and I got used to temping everything. It took me about 45 seconds to get a correct reading. The ones I use at work take about 5 seconds. Not worth the money! Go ahead and save some trouble by buying a more expensive one.

After two uses the plastic cap which holds the battery popped open and will not hold the battery in place. Unit will not function.
