Everything is working fine. I've used it with the crock pot, over the stove, and even in the refrigerator to make sure that it was cold enough. I recommend it above a less expensive one that Wal-Mart sells, because I bought two of them and they lasted about 15 months each. Let's hope that this one will be better. It's really nice to know when food is done so that it is not over cooked.
I love this thermometer! Its digital, has a timer, detaches, easy clean and you can leave it in the oven to cook to perfection. The features are just as good as it claims. I guess I would like it better if it had maybe a little case to keep it in. Maybe ill buy it one. That way its not just laying in the drawer.
White is a bad idea especially in my use of a smoker, it already looks gross after one use but alas, its not a benz. It would be better if it was a dual probe so you can check multiple items at the same time. Even if only one dish it would be great to know the temp which the grill or smoker is running. The backlight is helpful, would be nice if you could force it to stay on. I have good vision, I can read it from 10+ feet on a barely lit deck at night.
Works great, love that it's magnetic so it sticks to side of grill. Have used several times works perfect.
This worked perfectly for me this year at Thanksgiving. Simple to use and I find it very convenient to check the meat temperature without having to open to oven door.
used for Christmas ham and it worked great.
A little to soon to tell only used it twice, but worked perfectly, easy to set up and use
Works fine
This device will save your fingers from burns.
My roasts are done when the internal temperature reaches 127 degrees. Perfect roast. I need the thermometer to beep to notify me when it reaches that temperature. I am careful and gentle with our devices. I do not affix them to the heat source; I rest them on a cool, stable surface nearby. I gently wash the probes by hand and store them in a sealed bag in a safe place. I am aware that some probes have fragile ceramic elements inside, and I am attentive to that potential fragility. 1. First use, thermometer read the "FFF" error. Removed batteries to reset it and that worked. 2. Battery removal is tough on the fingers, because the battery compartment is located behind the clip that doesn't remove or yield room, and has a rim for grip. Scraped-up my cuticle and finger skin getting the battery lid off and putting batteries in. 3. Out of the three times I set the thermometer to beep when my roasts reached 127 degrees F, it did not beep any of those times, ruining three 10-15 pound roasts by overcooking them. After the first attempt, I assumed user error, and in the subsequent two uses, I was attentive to programming, I stayed nearby, and checked the temperature intermittently. 4. Fourth and final attempt at use... when I tried to test the temperature of my roaster oven, the thermometer only read "FFF," the error message. I repeatedly turned it off, plugged and unplugged the probe, and it still read "FFF." Used a pen to push the RESET button on the back. That didn't work, either. I'm not interested in tearing-up my fingers to try to roll the batteries to see if I can reset it that way. I can only surmise that the thermometer is now broken and unusable, so I'm returning it. I'm not interested in a thermometer I have to toil to remove batteries to reset it when it malfunctions on the most basic task it was designed to do. I'm not interested in ruining anymore 15-pound roasts. I have no room for high-maintenance dysfunctional small appliances. This is our second Taylor thermometer. The first lasted only a few uses as well before malfunctioning, reading temperatures consistently 20 degrees off, and showing only Celsius readings. I would like to encourage Taylor to be more selective about the third-party products it procures and stamps its name on. When these products' quality is substandard, it reflects on the Taylor brand as a whole, and all Taylor products become of questionable quality. We will not be buying Taylor products again.
