Works Fine

Friendsmeetup545 January 11, 2017

This Rain Gage and Thermometer works fine, just remember to place it in a bit shaded area and spot where rainfall is not distorted by less or more rain from being too close to a building, tree...ect.

Hard to read

Shelby March 1, 2017

Bought this for my dad. His other one broke that had a digital number read out. This one does what it says but he finds it more difficult to read the bars it display for the amount of rain it measures. It does not have a digital number read out for the amount it registers. The discription on line wasn't real clear on how it measures rain fall but the pics of it shows bars. It wasn't very expensive and seams to work ok.

It wont display the outside temperature. Thats the reason I bought it. I am considering returning it.

Not sure worth the effort.

Torigrace October 31, 2017

I just unpacked it and reading directions. Place in the shade but where there is unobstructed rainfall??? If it is below freezing put it where no rain will hit it such as under the eave of the house. If the temp drops below -4 degrees F. bring it inside. Might as well kept my old two dollar rain gauge that I had to watch and bring in to keep from freezing. I read all I could find before I ordered and am not sure this is going to be worth the effort as I travel a lot and like to check rain and temp when I return. Will give it a go and see what happens but am not impressed.

Difficult to set up

Kathy July 19, 2021

I could not get the battery compartment open. Instructions were not very clear and I did not want to break it. Sorry, I really wanted the item.

Extremely Disappointed!

James August 11, 2020

Extremely disappointed. Prior to purchasing this rain gauge I had owned and used its reliable predecessor - a Springfield brand model 91505-1 for at least 10 years. Much to my dismay, the like-branded Taylor made product model 2755 was DOA! I tried new batteries and even tested them with a multi-meter showing 3.0 volts for a pair of AA. I am an experienced user of wireless thermometer and never had a problem synching up the Springfield brand base unit and the remote sensor - but not on this device. Will try to get my money back.

Very disappointed

steven September 12, 2022

The base unit is hard to read, you have to tip it and read it at an angle. We had a very old one by a different company just like this one, it was still working but the plastic latch at the bottom broke. So, we bought this one and could not wait until it rained, sure enough, it rained 5 inches, but our rain gauge said 0.00 Come to find out the rain collector inside is hitting the rain gauge so it can't move to read the rain. We ended up putting our old top on the rain collector and it works. I gave it one star because it works on the temperature, but the rain gauge only works with our old cover on the rain collector.

Don't buy this rain gauge.

Martha May 10, 2021

The rain gauge is hard to read, hard to figure out the amount of daily rain and is a product I would never buy again. Wish I would have gotten a AcuRite one like I had before.

DON'T BUY THIS!

DaleEvans March 1, 2018

If the above one star could be erased, the rating would be totally blank. The rain gauge didn't work when we received it and it was purchased from a company that advertised on the Walmart website. All efforts to contact that company have failed and since it was not sold directly by Walmart, to date they are not doing any thing about it. We are totally unhappy and will be extremely hesitant to do any more business on the Walmart website.
