These are amazing. I love that you can get such good forgiveness out of a more compact package. Distance is fantastic. These irons look great, feel great, and are hands down the best irons I've ever owned. My one knock on these irons is that the finish is not very durable. For someone who cleans their equipment obsessively, this is a tough pill to swallow. If you're not a total psycho like me, though, these are incredible.
Hit Callaway Big Bertha's for a LONG time. Did a fitting with Taylor Made last year, mainly for the Qi10 driver. Thought after I got that I'd try the Qi irons. Hit the Qis, P770s, and P790s. P790s were far superior IMO. Felt good in my hands, forgiving enough to keep me out of trouble, but also keeps me honest with my swing. If you're looking for new irons and a mid or high handicapper, spend some time on the range or simulator with these. I think you'll like them.
Folks, I decided to upgrade my golf game after playing so long with 40 year old clubs and technology. So I dove into the arena of all that is offered to purchase today. I tried at least 10 different sets of irons from Taylor Made, Callaway, Ping, Cleveland etc. and even the small companies. But everytime I hit the P790's, they just felt amazing!! Crisp feel, sound and the ball just exploding off of the clubs!! I am so so glad I went with the P790's!! After being out of the game for over 10 years, it feels great to back at it and back at it with these amazing clubs and technology! You Simply Cannot Go Wrong With These Clubs!! Best thing I have done for myself and my game in years and years!! If you are considering new clubs, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THESE!!
The TaylorMade P790 7 iron has been a reassuring choice for me. Even though I'm still in the early stages of learning and haven't seen dramatic improvements in my game yet, the design and feel of this club give me confidence that I'm on the right path. It's forgiving on mis-hits, which are frequent at my level, making the learning process more forgiving. The club is well-balanced and inspires confidence with its sleek design and solid construction. I appreciate how it feels in my hands and the potential it shows for helping me improve. For fellow beginners, the P790 is a great option for the price!
I've always wanted to try a set of P790's and now I have one. They're probably the most beautiful clubs I've ever owned. It's still cold where I live, so I haven't been able to play a round here. However, I've hit them indoors and love what I'm seeing and the feel of the irons.
Love the new 2023 790's. I have never hit the ball so pure and so high. Gives you confidence at address. I had the APEX 21 and these are better for ball flight. Lost a few yards due to the height i get but am willing to move up a club. Just need to recalibrate by brain. 150 is now an 8 iron vs the 9 iron i used to hit. Also am 67 so not as much club head speed.
High handicap upgraded from some 2010 AP1.. I feel a difference off the rip and I would say my level I would still need a cavity back beginners. My skytrak data tells me I'm hitting them further and better than my old clubs. And plenty of room for improvement. Love them
Great clubs. I bought a set of the first generation several years ago. I went to a club fitter for a new set this spring. I told the fitter - pick whatever is best for me. We went through 10 different 7 irons and then he said, let's do this and put the latest P790 model in my hands - MAGIC!
Great irons! My only issue is my 2021's are just as nice. I had a hard time pulling the trigger. Guess I have two sets of great irons. TM could step up the point system. 3k into a custom stealth plus 2 driver and the new 790's, not even enough for a sleeve of balls.🥸
: My issue is that I ordered a new set of P790 irons and 7 days later a new P790 model is released! I just paid for a new set which is already old. I believe that you could have contacted me to let me know about an updated model being released, and at that time verified my existing order or let me modify my order to instead purchase the updated model. I've been a Taylormade guy for quite some time, but this is pretty terrible treatment. I really believe I should be offered a replacement of my new set for the updated model!
