I've been gaming the TaylorMade Spider Tour X L-Neck for a while now, and it’s safe to say it’s earned a permanent spot in my bag. Feel & Balance: The first thing I noticed was the incredible feel. The L-Neck provides a nice amount of toe hang, which is perfect for my slight arc stroke. It's a great middle ground between a face-balanced mallet and a traditional blade. The putter head is stable throughout the stroke, and the feedback off the face is soft but responsive—thanks to the Pure Roll insert. Alignment & Confidence: Visually, the alignment aid is excellent. The short sightline paired with the more compact Spider X head shape makes it easy to aim without overwhelming your eyes. I find myself lining up more confidently and consistently, especially on those tricky 6-10 footers. Performance on the Greens: This putter really shines on mid-range putts. The weight distribution helps keep the face square at impact, and mishits still roll true. I’ve also noticed my lag putting has improved; it’s easier to dial in distance control with this putter than with my older blade. Overall: The Spider Tour X L-Neck is ideal for players who want the forgiveness of a mallet with the feel and flow of a blade. It blends stability with precision beautifully. Whether you're struggling with alignment or looking for a more confident roll, this putter delivers. Rating: 9.5/10 (Only losing a half-point because it might not suit players who prefer a full arc or super lightweight feel.)
I used to be a fan and user of Scotty Cameron putters. Tried them all over the years, and they were trusty, reliable and high quality. But then that other Scottie came along...Scottie Scheffler...and I watched his putting game remarkably improve using the Spider X. While I'm no tour pro, I'm a single digit handicapper and I know that better putting can knock 3-4 strokes off each round. I went to the TaylorMade custom shop and designed my ideal version of the Spider X...shaft length, colorway, loft/lie, grip, etc. I was motivated to have mine look like Scottie Scheffler's for the confidence it inspires. The putter arrived a few weeks ago, and it looked great and felt amazing in my hands. I immediately noticed a reduction in the number of missed 5-8 foot putts. You know, the ones that can make a difference between getting more birdies or worst case helping avoid turning a 1-putt par into a bogey. Putters are personal things, of course. Some like face-balanced, other prefer toe-down. Whatever your choice, make it a choice based on actual improvement in strokes gained, and that can usually center around absolute confidence in the putter. Sinking more putts is a terrific way to feel more confidence. This new TaylorMade Spider X has certainly helped improve my game.
Best putter I’ve owned. In the past, I’ve used blade putters and this is the first mallet I’ve purchased. But I thought “hey if Scottie uses it and wins majors, surely it’s good” and I was right. The extra weight in the hands makes me feel like I have more control. And looking down you have more confidence. Ball feels great off the face. Would absolutely buy again.
A perfect blend of feel and forgiveness. The Spider Tour X L-Neck offers the precision of a blade with the stability of a mallet. Its lightweight design is ideal for medium to slower greens, giving you excellent control and confidence over every putt. The L-Neck hosel suits players with a slight arc, adding versatility without sacrificing alignment or consistency. If you’re looking for a more compact, responsive mallet that doesn’t feel bulky, this is the one to try.
I feel I have more control over distance than my phantom x 11 with this putter. It’s on the lighter side of my preference but it’s working well as is. Obviously easy to align but the speed control is critical for me. Not leaving putts short, starting everything on line leads to 1-2 putts per hole and drops strokes off your round. Looks great and performs great.
I replaced an older TaylorMade Spider Ghost single bend putter with this new putter. The difference in technology is significant! The weight is improved as well as the alignment marks and the face gives a truer roll. I made money with it the first week I used it.
I have been playing Odyssey putters for the last 7 years, prior to that I had a TaylorMade Spider L-Neck, was a great putter. This new Spider Tour X L-Neck is the best putter I've every played with. The balance and feel are unmatched and the slight toe hang is just what I needed with my slight arc. I would highly recommend this to anyone!!!
Extremely easy to align and the insert seems like it is much improved from prior versions. Soft, but not enough to lose the feel off the face. High quality headcover with much-appreciated magnetic closures. Sits square to target in set-up position.
Switched from Scotty Cameron Newport 2 to Spider Tour X L-Neck. The slight mishits aren't as noticeable with a better roll out which has helped me make more putts. Very satisfied with purchase and recommend to anyone considering making the switch from blade to mallet.
The TaylorMade Spider L Neck putter is an absolute game-changer on the greens, offering exceptional stability and a wonderfully balanced feel that inspires confidence with every stroke. Its precise alignment features and consistent roll make sinking putts feel almost automatic, truly elevating your short game.
