Really good mid upper level ball. Feels like it's hard enough to get great distance off of the tee, but soft enough to put the ball where you want around greens.
I've been playing golf for 30+ years and the Tour Response ball has been a very consistent performer. This is especially true as I've aged and need the added distance and control. I've been playing the Tour Response since the ball was introduced in 2022 and it has not disappointed.
I give the Tour Response five stars. I bought two dozen when the weather here got really cold. 70 compression is better for cold weather. I absolutely love the TP5x this is my go to ball 80% of the season. Absolutely love everything about that ball. For me the Tour Response is a good colder weather ball. I also bought one dozen yellow balls. They are very easy to see in cloudy overcast conditions, maybe not so much in bright sunshine. My mind is still not made up about yellow.
I have found the Tour Response is a ball that fits my game. At 76 I'm not a big hitter, but from the senior tees I don't need to be. I play a control game and this ball seems to enhance that aspect. In addition, it's priced appropriately for my budget and level of play.
Nice ball. Hit them well of the tee-box. Though they can be a bit harder to see because of the red/blue band. I will use them for practising my putting and on the chipping green where these golf balls will look different and be easy to claim as my own when others are also chipping.
I usually play balls that are higher compression than the Tour Response. My go to balls are TP5 with around 87 compression and Pro V1 with around 89 compression. Usually I buy TP5's only for when my round actually matters, tournament play and wagered matches with buddies but will play Pro V1's if they are given to me with no issues and both balls work great for me. My swing speed is around 110-115. Maybe I just have confidence in these balls and so it makes me swing more freely, but I love them. I purchased a box of these Tour Response Stripe's just on a whim because I thought they'd be fun to use and test them while putting. They basically said hold my beer to me as I proceeded to shoot the lowest score I've shot this year. Granted, the season is still very early on and who knows how things will change when it warms up a bit, but with how these balls have lasted me, I'll likely still have them when it gets to that point. I've already played about 4 rounds since getting these and have only gone through a single sleeve. 1 ball was lost because of me hitting a terrible tee shot into the water and the other 2 were added to the practice bin after I cut them up with my wedge over the course of about 2 rounds each. Where I was concerned was the low compression of these balls (around 70). They're lower than even Callaway's Chrome Soft and so I thought I'd lost a bunch of distance. Surprisingly, I didn't lose nearly as much as I thought I would (only around 5-10 yards). This was off the tee but I did actually notice a little bit of a bump with mid to long irons compared to the other premium balls that I use and I had great spin around the greens and under 100 yards out. In conclusion, these will more than likely be making it in to my bag much more as the year progresses and have a high possibility of becoming my every day gamer ball replacing the Kirkland V2.0's (92 compression) I usually play. Get you a sleeve/box of these ASAP, whether you're a high swing speed or low swing speed player I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
I can only speak for myself in regard to these golf balls, but I'll excitedly share that I improved my best-ever score by 4 strokes on the first outing of using them. I will not give TaylorMade full credit for my best-ever performance (*based on my score), but I did really like how they felt off of the clubs. I also very much liked how the stripes on the ball gave me a little bit of feedback about the spin I was putting on the ball. Additionally, I felt "locked in" when putting with the tour response balls and sunk three putts from beyond 20 feet that ran exactly as I had hoped they would when I putted. A year or so ago when I found one of these (someone had lost it) while searching for my ball in the desert next to where I was playing, I started using it and put together 2 par holes, followed by a bogey and then two pars. To summarize, I have been very happy with this ball and it is now the ball that I plan to purchase and use again and again. Two days after playing my best game ever, I played my 2nd best game ever (based on score).
I am enjoying the look of the ball b/c i've never played with any ball that had strips on it. seems to perform well so far off the tee and around the green. helps me line up putts on the green.
I love these golf balls with the alignment stripe on it. I would like to see a brighter stripe on it like the yellow you have with your high visibility TP5 or TP5x. It would make it easier to spot them in high rough. I would also like to see an alignment stripe on your high visibility yellow TP5 and TP5X golf ball like you have on your white TP5 and TP5X golf balls.
Distance, feel, and response are all similar to any top tour ball. The stripe is a great putting aide, however the white portion of the ball is not a bright white, it is a grreyish white making it very difficult to locate on the ground, especially in overcast conditions.
