I FIRST BOUGHT A HITACHI I TOOK IT BACK AND GOT THIS ONE. IT TOOK ME AWHILE LONGER TO SET UP BUT WORTH IT, I HAD TO CALL TECH. BECAUSE THIS IS THE FIRST SMART TV I HAVE PURCHASED, AT THE BEGINNING OF SET UP I BELIEVE IT ASKS FOR A CREDIT CARD,,YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ENTER ONE. I HAVE WATCHED NETFIX, SOUND IS STRONG,I HAVE THE SOUND GOING THRU A HEADPHONE JACK AND IT IS WONDERFUL..SO GLAD I RETURNED THE HITACHI AND GOT THIS ONE. I WORKED ON THE COLOR ON THE HITACHI FOR SEVERAL DAYS NEVER COULD GET IT RIGHT, SOUND ON THE HITACHI WAS VERY WEEK. HOPE THIS HELPS. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.
We bought our first 32 in. TCL Roku tv around the middle of 2016. I was hesitant because I'd never heard of TCL, and we'd always had LG, or Vizio TVs up to that point. I'm just now looking at replacing our TCL not because of any issues from the manufacturer or anything. Sadly my kids were fighting and one of them ended up throwing something that hit the screen and there went the picture. We paid around $100 for it, and it lasted us 4 1/2 years of almost 24 hours a day usage with no issues. I'm sure it would have lasted at least a few more years if we'd kept the kids away from it. We're looking at getting a new one identical to the one we had, that's how much we loved it.
I bought this TV for my youngest daughter in 2016 and two years later this TV is going strong. I have not had any problems with the TV at all. It comes with a one year manufacturer warranty and I bought a two year extended warranty via Walmart for only $10 bucks. We've played video games to stream movies via Netflix. We just recently hooked a digital TV antenna and searching for the channels was really easy. I'll say the 3 HDMI ports is a major plus. We have enough for our systems and one Blu Ray player. Never any connection problems with the HDMI ports at all either. Awesome buy for us.
After I selected and listed the channels my husband likes, he was abre to change them by himself even with the sight problems he has. Font size is large enough and the remote control is easy to manage.
Purchased a TCL for my Den and loved it so much, I bought two more. Easy to set up and easy to use. So many Apps available, you do not need cable. I have DIrect TV and I am able to stream any channel when I sign in the activate. I absolutely can not say enough about the affordability and reliability of these sets. I thank the salesman because I was going to buy the Vizio and he pointed me in the direction of this brand. If you think the picture is not sharp enough, perhaps you are having vision or Wifi issues. Picture, sound, ease of use and affordability are all 5 stars!
Our 2nd Roku TV and 3rd Roku unit. For the money I can't see how it can be beat. I don't understand the comments about a $100.00 fee. I have never paid Roku anything. We setup an account with Roku that was free. We use use Amazon, Netflix Hulu, Youtube, and the best bart the Xfinity Beta App. The Xfinity app is worth the price all by itself. Like having a 2nd HD DVR set top unit. We have experienced some problems playing our network media, but all of the Roku units we own sometimes won't play network media. As far as apps crashing over wifi, my suggestion would be to download an app fro your cell phone or tablet that shows wifi signal strength. The picture is great head on, and washes out from side to side, but I own much more expensive monitors that aren.t much better. Again the picture is great 45 degrees side to side. So for the price of a Roku Ultra you get a Roku and 32 inch TV. We love it.
I had just purchased this TV, and I LOVE IT! The graphics aren't great up close, but when I sit on my bed and watch, it looks perfect. The TV is nice and loud, and I'm not sure why some people have to pay the $100 fee, because I didn't. It did ask for my credit card info for purchases I may make on the TV, but you can skip that step. I also read another review that talked about how the second remote didn't come with the TV, but the second remote is an app for your phone, which it is easy to download and access. This is an overall great TV, and I really enjoy not having my Xbox on my dresser taking up a ton of space because the TV comes with Netflix on it already, and that is what I primarily used my Xbox for. I highly recommend this TV, mainly for the price. It's a great deal for a good product, and I'm so glad I made this purchase. I won't ever regret it!
I was impressed with how easy it was to setup. It even has a video to show you the features. Don't let the Roku setup scare you off, it is easy and cost nothing. They do require a credit card to add to account for any purchases you may make. You can set a pin number to insure safety and prevent others from making purchases in your home. It is fully Roku TV and the on screen menu is very well setup! Sound is very good, happy about that as I am hearing impaired. The picture is very good and CC is very nice. Plenty of HDMI ports and other standard ports. Coaxial cable connection is also on back. The setup is extremely easy and will walk you through set by step. Wfi was very easy and again step by step instructions. I am very happy so far with the product!
I am using it in my garage with a HD antenna. Set up was a breeze. Logged into home WiFi network and the tv did a software update and then loaded up all the roku apps. I hooked in the cheap radioshack HD antenna, went to the menu, searched for stations. TV picked up over 30 local stations. It picked up alot more channels than the 20 inch Visio it replaced using the same antenna. The picture looks great and the sound was good. The roku apps work perfectly. I get Netflix, Amazon prime, YouTube, etc. Best thing is that it is compatible with the xfinity beta app. I searched, downloaded the beta app and was able to watch all my xfinity channels. It is exactly like having another DVR box for free. Another review said the same thing and I agree. The xfinity beta app is "gold Jerry". For $135 it is a steal. Glad i bought it.
Bought this smart TV in September 2017. I am very happy with it. It is 720p (not 1080p) but it is good enough. You do NOT need to enter your credit card info in order to use it. If you don't want to subscribe to Netflix or Amazon, install the Youtube channel and have infinite things to watch. Youtube is my favorite internet channel anyway. I like that it has only on remote control instead of a remote for the TV and a remote for Roku. Best Buy also has a 32 inch smart TV for the same price, but I like Walmart better because you have 90 days to return it compared to 14 days for Best Buy.
