This television has everything preloaded onto it. Which saves you the cost of a Roku which can be $59 by itself. Other options are all they're available to you that if you want to participate in Amazon sling or any of the other streaming TV programs it is all there for you preloaded. The picture is great. The price was absolutely the lowest I found anywhere even on Black Friday.
I was looking for a large monitor on sale, and instead chose this TV. It acts as a screen for my android tablet, in addition to being a smart TV. There are three hdmis, selectable on the first screen along with the apps. The only problem is that when you power it up, there is no light signalling that the TV has been turned on. The screen remains dark for a long time, and you think maybe you missed it with the remote. Of course, if you hit the remote again, it powers off. I wonder if the initial response time causes people to keep trying, thereby turning it off and on alternately. Vizio tvs have a light that comes on, so you know the power is on while you are waiting for it to boot up. I have wall mounted it, though the stand was very good; I considered leaving it on the stand. The sound has a lot dolby options, but detects from the source and picks one, or you can choose one. Of course tv speakers cannot be very good, but these are not too annoying. I am happy with the purchase. Even on wifi, the Roku is much quicker than a smart tv on a network cable from the modem.
This is the best TV I have ever owned. For a 32 inch it packs a lot of cool features! The resolution is amazing and the easy access to all my favorites apps, is the cherry to top it off. Its actually capable of 1080P as well. Even though it says 720p, when I connected my ps4 and it allowed me to change the resolution to 1080P. Wouldn't be possible if it wasn't supported. So that was a nice little surprise. Them including HBO Now, Spotify, Showtime, etc. Makes for a winning combination. I'm definitely looking at getting the bigger 55 inch for my living room to complete the set.
I was going to take the tv back because of the poor picture colors and how long it took everything to load up. After watching a youtube review I found the picture adjustments and was able to make the colors very watchable. I also was able to find the power options which helps speed everything up on it. It takes 15 seconds now to show the home screen and 15 more seconds for the connection to make. I haven't had much time to mess with it yet, but so far I think it will be a very good tv.
I almost didn't buy this TV because some reviewers said current Netflix or Amazon/HBO subscribers had to resubscribe through ROKU to watch those services. That's unequivocally not true. Roku allows current subscribers to just sign on to their current accounts. Secondly, some said the TV's receptor isn't strong enough to pick up Wifi from other parts of the house. Also untrue. I had a weak signal on the other side of my house but $35 WiFi extender took care of that. But there's more , the TV was a great value. The picture is crisp and clear. The remote is easy to use. The sound is great and stronger than our higher priced and larger TV in the Great Room. There are also other great deals for streaming or renting on other non-subscription services. Great buy. Glad I didn't get talked out od buying my ROKU TV!
Didn't know what Roku was, thought just a smart TV. Bought for the grandkids room. Easy to use, really like it. I like that I don't have to connect a lot of cables, runs on Wifi and streams from spectrum without a box or any cables, just plug in and set up thru internet. The only plug is to the power. Also was very good price - 32" for $125. Great sell.
I love my TCL Roku TV! I had never heard of TCL before but I was able to do a little research and found out that they are new in the United States, but are the 3rd largest TV manufacturer in the world. I figured I would give them a try, and I have been very pleased with my purchase. The TV is so easy to use, the set up was quick, and everything is all on one screen when I want to switch between watching cable TV and Netflix! You can change the home screen so that you can put all of your favorite apps in one place. The picture quality and sound are great. I would definitely recommend purchasing this TV. You can't beat the quality or the price!
I bought this for a gift, after buying one for myself last year. I pay for Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime (no able or satellite) , so it's nice to be able to add my subscriptions, and all the free services that I like, right to the tv. Many of them are pre-loaded, and you can remove the ones you don't need. You can also connect wirelessly to your laptop, so I use it as a spare monitor sometimes. No Roku box to add clutter (and over heat). You do need to add speakers, but those are easy to come by, if don't already have some. 720p is good enough for me, but it's not the best available. Hardcore gamers would want a faster processor.
Let me start by saying I bought this set for $158.00 just over 2 weeks ago. I did some reading online about ROKU before I purchased. OMG it is soooooo easy to connect to all my subscription services (netflix, amazon, etc. I also maintain Xfinity (I still cannot totally give pay service up since I have a 60" regular tv in our living room.) The only reason I did nor give this unit a 5 star rating (would have given 4 3/4 if possible) is that the way they designed the place to connect your cable TV makes the connection nearly impossible. I almost gave up and returned the TV. "Start-up" is slow also....sort of like in the 1960's with picture tubes. Otherwise, great picture and easy to use.
This was a decent deal, for the price I paid, however there is one major problem and one quality issue with this television. The major problem is the remote control. It is absolutely a zero on a scale of ten. Because the remote is missing a numeric dial pad the user is forced to page through dozens of channels to get to the channel they seek. While the user may delete channels they seldom use, this process is extremely time-consuming and must be repeated every time they reset any function on the menu. This process is so frustrating that I will never, ever, purchase another electronic device with this blatantly obvious design flaw. The quality issue is the poor picture quality. As I previously stated, for the price, I did not expect perfection. Would I buy it again? No.
