I needed a portable air conditioner to keep our sunroom (13'x11') cool for the summer. This unit is the perfect size, was easy to setup, and has proven to be powerful enough to do the job. It has the automation I need which includes a thermostat and timer. The vent slats are manual which is not a problem. I will be cleaning the intake filter once a week as suggested, but that's the only regular maintenance required. I really love it both for the price and the cooling power. Excellent product!
I live in an apartment that doesn't allow window AC units but allows these portable ones. Read some consumer report reviews and this one had good ratings for the price. Its also said to be fairly energy efficient. Setup was fairly easy extending the exhaust tube took the longest. I was being gentle with it so it didn't break. Window vent setup seems like it would fit pretty much any window size. It also came with a foam strip to seal any gaps. I think its rated for a 200sq ft room. Seems like it will cool my bedroom but definitely not my whole apartment which I expected. I primarily bought this for extreme hot summer nights to cool my bedroom and think it will do the job. Could also be rolled into my office on a really hot day with about 10 minutes of effort. Ran it for about 20 minutes, its only 68 outside so hard to tell how fast or good it cools. But it did seem to be blowing nice cool air and cooling the room. I am a little concerned about potential water leaks or the unit filling up fast and needing to be emptied frequently. I find it kind of interesting that my landlord seems to think window ac's are more likely to cause water damage than a portable unit. But ill do whatever to sleep comfortably on a hot summer night. Comes with a remote. Theres an app that you can download to turn it on remotely. Has a fan and dry setting, im guessing the dry setting acts as a dehumidifier.
I originally got this for a sunporch, but needed it in our bedroom before I could get it set up in the porch when our central a/c went down till tech could come out. Easy to set up, keeps the room nice and cool. Will likely get at least 1 more, or 2 if my current office window unit goes out. And probably will go ahead and keep it in the room and set the central a bit higher at night after it's fixed anyway.
I bought this for my bedroom to keep it extra cool on the summer days when I have to sleep. I work at night job so it is really important to have a good air conditioning unit in my bedroom. This one was inexpensive and easy to install. It came with all the necessary supplies to mount it in a 52 inch wide window, vertically. I had it up and running in less than an hour and man is it cold! The price was great too!
Bought this for my Class B rv. Perfect! I run this with my Bluetti AC200L B300 and I can run it overnight with still 30% juive left the following day. For my need, this is way better and cheaper than the Ecoflow Wave 2, its 75% cheaper, prove me wrong, do your research. So the last 2 occasions that i wasn't able to sleep because of the hot temp in my rig, is now a thing of the past, and the icing on the cake is, i didnt do any modification, the kit that came with it for the window exhaust fits perfectly on my window.
After using it a month, it's working great. I was afraid it might not be strong enough, but I've been able to leave it on 73 and the upstairs feels comfortable. Set up was pretty eaay, but i didn't have to use the window contraption because the room has a hole in the wall that fits the exhaust tube perfectly. Haven't had to empty it, but I also haven't uses the dehumidifier function. Perfect for what I needed.
It's ... ok. I like that the exhaust panel is thin but do not like that I had to cut it. The thicker side doesn't fit in the slot in my window which is also annoying. Quiet enough, heavy but I like the slim design. Keeps my 10x16 bedroom comfortable
My portable AC unit broke and with a heatwave in the area I went online checking around for another unit. After viewing many different models I decided to buy the TCL 5,000 BTU Smart Portable Air Conditioner. It was the least expensive one I found that had the features I wanted on it. So far the unit is working fine cooling the area where I'm setting. I knew it wouldnt be able to cool my whole apartment down. Units able to do that cost three to four times more then what the TCL unit did. The only negative I've found so far is I dont like how the air vent is designed. There is a 10" opening on the front of the unit but half of it is blocked off by the molded case and can't be removed. My guess is that they use this same case for higher BTU models and thats why there is the smaller opening on this particular model. The unit came well packed with styrofoam and cardboard protecting it from being damaged. I would recommend this unit for smaller living rooms or bedrooms.
The unit is very easy to install and is ready to go within minutes. It works great for cooling my bedroom. I'm very happy with it and the price is very reasonable.
DO NOT BUY! I put this in a tiny bedroom and it doesn't cool it at all! It's not even the heat of the summer yet. The instructions say to drain once a day, you need to drain it twice! And even still expect your 5 gallon bucket to be over flowing!! This ac unit requires a ton of daily maintenance. Draining the water is messy. This is possibly the worst product I have ever bought. It's also extremely heavy for a tiny unit. We had to build a special stand for it to sit on because the draining unit sits against the ground. I had to get it propped up so it can drain gallons of water every day!! What a poor design. Oh by the way! It has two drains you need to take care of. I promise you will regret buying this AC.
