TCL 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner; White

This was my first experience with the “portable “ AC and I really like this thing. I live in a townhouse and one of the front room is kind of hot in the summer. Don't know why. So since it has started getting warm I've been using my central air. I installed this in of the “hot” bedrooms and it did great. The installation wasn't really hard. I did have trouble connecting the hose to one of the connector (the one that goes behind the air conditioner). But I got it together! This portable AC really throws out slot of air and it's cold! It's not very noisy, sounds like a regular window AC maybe a little lower. It runs until it reaches the temperature set..then I'm thinking the fan just runs which is great because it still stays cool inside the room. It comes with a remote control!! The vent sways back and forth circulating the air throughout. The machine is a little heavy. FYI: they want you to keep the unit close to a window so that the warm travels out (something of that nature ). I would actually buy one of these portables. I recommend...especially if you need air conditioning in an upstairs room!

This is a great way to start fresh. We are glad to have this TCL Portable Air Conditioner to cool our home. It is a great way to maintain your home cool throughout Summer. It will save energy in comparison to central air conditioning units homes have. This TCL Portable Air Conditioning is digital and comes with a remote to control it best. It has different modes. You can use it as a fan, heater, cool, dehumidifier, change the temperature higher or lower, program a timer, and set it on sleep mode. The remote uses two AAA batteries. It was easy to install and fallow directions. The directions are written out step by step and have images to show each step. I highly recommend this Portable Air Conditioner. It cools well and maintains your house fresh.

Right away I appreciated how easy it was to remove from the box. The instructions are great. Very easy to read and answered all my questions. It has fan, air conditioner and dehumidifier functions. It says that in most AC situations you don't need to drain the unit. If it does get full due to extreme moisture and prolonged use it will automatically shut off - nice feature! - and you can drain it. If you use it in 'dry' mode to dehumidify you will need to run your hose to a drain or bucket. Recommends you disconnect hose for AC. The filter should be cleaned every week and is a little hard to pull out (pull the screen filter up by the middle and it will release from the frame). Not AC weather here yet but I turned it on and it made a medium amount of noise, comparable to my window AC.

This is a really easy set up. All you need is a window prepared for the ventilation duct to flow outside. It definitely keeps the room cooler. We have an area in our home where, for some reason, the central air/heat does not flow well. It is always colder in the winter months and warmer than the rest of the house during the summer. This unit has helped so much. We live in Georgia and the temperatures are already registering in the 80s. This is simple to operate, keeps the area very cool and we can move it whenever we need to because it's portable. You can also set the timer or put it on auto; just set it to L, M or H. No more complaints from my daughter. Brilliant....I highly recommend.

The TCL portable AC unit is wonderful. All you need is a window. The unit comes with an extendable hose. The hose runs from the unit and out the window. The hose is attached to a plastic piece that extends to close off the areas of the open window around the hose. The unit serves as an AC, dehumidifier or fan. Remote control included. It has an LED display. There are 2 fan speeds and 2 cooling speeds. Programmable thermostat, timer. Energy Saver and sleep mode also.The best thing about this unit is it evaporates the water on its own so you don't have to empty it. This unit is great and certainly one I recommend. *received free

We are keeping this unit in our master bedroom which is approx a 15 x 15 room. It's been perfect in there. We use the cooling fan mostly and with the weather in the 90s recently and our bedroom being upstairs it has definitely cooled down the room significantly. A few times we have put on the actual a/c option and that is definitely very cold and feels great in our room. It gets a little loud on this option but we think it hums some from being on carpet because if we move it around some it hums less. Hooking up the tube to the window was also very easy. This has been a great option that has kept us from having to use the central air so far.

I am writing a review for the Spark Review Program for the TCL 8,000 BTU portable air conditioner. This product is the perfect item for preparing for the upcoming summer season, and especially in my coastal region, hurricane season. The size of this product is perfect for storing, and even for setting up in small out of the way areas for easy use. The strength of this product was perfect for any medium size room with an accessible window. I loved that this product was more than just a portable AC. It can also be a fan, and dehumidifier. I am currently not in need of an AC, so I was overjoyed to be able to use this product as a dehumidifier. The control panel was large, accessible, and programmable, and even came with a remote control. The unit had a sleep mode that allowed for increased power saving when not in full power mode, and a timer that provided even more money saving options. The filter panel was accessible and easy to open, remove and clean. And the overall size of the product was perfect for my use. I would buy this product myself for use, or even as a gift.

The TCL 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is a great little unit that cools down a room very quickly. It comes with a remote control which is always nice so you can adjust the temperature, fan speed, mode, or vent direction. One thing I really like is that you can set the vents to oscillate back and forth or stop them where you want during the oscillation. Pretty cool. This unit gets COLD! It cools up to a 350sf room. I would say the noise level is medium. Not something you would want near a tv.:). You would need to place in an area off to the side. As you can see from the photos, you need about 2 feet between the unit and the wall. That is my only negative. I wish the exhaust hose was more pliable so that the unit could be closer to the wall. This particular unit can also be used as a dehumidifier is you hook up a short hose to the port in the back for drainage. I like that if you have the unit in a bedroom you can dim the digital readout so that it is not so bright when the lights are turned out. The TCL air conditioner weighs about 50lbs, but it has castor wheels so it is easily maneuverable anywhere in your house. We live in South Texas so the weather gets pretty hot and muggy through spring and summer. We do a lot of camping and are thinking about taking this unit with us to set up in our tent. We would need to vent out the door, but my goodness it would make things so much nicer!!!! We just purchased a 3 room tent so there should be no problem size wise putting this in the tent....just have to have an electrical hookup!:) Great product and very versatile.

The air coming from the unit is okay... but my main issue is the pipe that runs from the unit to the window. The pipe will not fit into either attatchment. The pipe will come aloose at least 3 times while it’s running. I have even ducked taped the pipe and it won’t stay.
