TCL 8,000 BTU Smart Window Air Conditioner, Black, W8W9E2-B3C

I had already gotten a smaller unit for the bedroom, and decided I needed something a little bigger for the rest of the house. This 8000BTU unit is working perfectly for what I was hoping for. It cools my kitchen and living room way better than I thought it would. I am pleased with the performance of this unit and for the 6000 BTU.

Took a little time to set up with the TCL Home app but once figured out how to set it per times of when I'd like it to turn on and off about an hour before getting off work to b cooled down when I arrive was really awesome! For the price at the time was cheapest “smart A/c on the web. Overall happy with purchase. Being offered in the black style was even cooler to match other appliances.

It is not very loud, but it is super cold. It cooled our room off really quickly. This is a great unit. The dials are easy to use and understand. It stays running pretty much the whole time, but that's exactly what I like.

One that wouldn't draw too much power on my generator, but would cool the whole thing. The size of this unit was not only perfect, it also cools exactly how i needed. I can maintain just the right temperature, and not have to keep adjusting it. It's relatively quiet, and has a modern color and design that fits with the renovations i am doing in the camper. This was a good choice for me, and I'm glad to have this.

It's so sweltering hot here in the South where I live that our HVAC system can't keep up in this heat. We have to use window units to keep cool and they actually keep it very comfortable in the house. Our central air we keep at 69 all year round, but in the summer it's horrible keeping it cool in here and by the end of the day it shoots up to 82 inside. With the window Air it stays 69 inside constant which I love because I hate the heat especially humidity. This unit cools my living room and kitchen, then with the unit in our bedroom I can actually use the oven to cook because it stays nice and cold in here.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great sized small unit for a room around 12x12 or similar square footage. Cooled an 80 degree, 12x12 room to comfortable in about an hour. Unit is easy to install but I suggest 2 people to lift into place ( or one very strong one :) as it is nearly square and bulky, plus it is an AC- not light. This needs to install in a small/average sized window as the (easy to attach) accordion style side vents only go out another roughly 12” total. Could not install it in the larger, center window I would have preferred but fit fine in the side window (22”opening) Unit is not too noisy, about as much as most window AC's. Has 2 fan settings and 7 temperature settings for better control of your room temperature. I found this useful for running during the day vs at night. The fan runs continuously, as I expected from a window unit. This AC is white with white pull out extenders that look nice in the window. Has a nice, clean look. The filter is convenient to remove for easy cleaning- nice feature. I would recommend this unit if you are looking for a clean looking, compact air conditioner to cool a small area.

Installs the same as any window AC unit, and cools appropriately, BUT... the fan is very noisy, even on "low", and forget trying to set up WiFi control, because the TCL app is useless (or the WiFi on the unit is useless - not sure which as it never connected!) First hint of trouble should have been the QR code for the link to the app download in the instruction manual taking me to an error 404 page (you can check it here by downloading the manual and attempting it unless they correct it after reading this!) One is unable to set up schedules (e.g. turn on at 7:30 am, turn off at 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, off at weekends) although the limited description in the manual suggests one may be able to fiddle around to set a fixed duration of operation. I had a GE unit before, and am regretting not repeating that purchase. Very disappointed.

I decided to go mdern. I live on New York and apartments are small but beautiful. I choose the TCL black AC 8000 BTU. Beautiful, slick and sexy. On the 2nd day chaos, ice hotting the motor fan and the coils frooze up. I followed instructions on the manual bit still to no avail, I jave the receipt throw out the box I was extactic now Im not sure what to do???? Somebody help please this'll be expensive.

Defective, extremely noisy unit and no resolution through multiple messages with TCL. Horrible air conditioner though not quite as terrible as TCL “customer care” after multiple emails over more than week and giving them all the info they requested, they left me with nothing and marked my issue as SOLVED and it was NOT SOLVED. Get a different ac brand —> Medea is cheaper and almost silent compared to this junk.
