TCL 8,000 BTU Smart Window Air Conditioner, White, W8W9E2-3

My home office with multiple computers always gets a lot hotter than the rest of the house so I need a window AC unit that helps cool me and my equipment down. I normally have a 5000 or 6000 BTU manual AC unit, but my desk sits in front of the window so was always having to get behind the desk in order to turn on or off. I wanted to upgrade to something with a remote and noticed this was also Alexa enabled which is a bonus for me because I have a lot of Alexa enabled IOT devices already. This TCL 8000 BTU unit also has 2 separate directional louvers so I can adjust where the air blows in 2 directions. Overall build quality is good and was typical and easy to assemble. The remote is great quality and woks very well. Being 8000 btu it is a bit heavier than the smaller units and harder to install by yourself, but doable. The unit even comes with some extra insulation pieces for the sides to help with efficiency which was a nice bonus. I am mized on the bottom clips required for the side panels but they work well. Instead of sliding out the internal filter, you have to pop open the front panel to gain access but the front hinges fine and snaps into place easily. It also made some funny noises at first but they went away after about 30 minutes of runtime. Based on other reviews, I was concerned about the app and wifi so I already had it downloaded before I received the unit. The TCL home app was easy to install and intuitive to add the AC and make any adjustments. It also downloaded a firmware upgrade once connecting the unit to my wifi. Enabling the skill in Alexa was easy and Alexa found the unit right away. I can easily set up routines, check the office temperature as well as turn on/off the unit with Alexa from anywhere including my car. Yes, when the unit is on full speed it is loud, but not more than any other AC and when the compressor kicks on it is a lot quieter than other units I have had. This name brand unit is perfect for me and works fantastic.

I HAD TO BUY A NEW 10,000 BTU UNIT FOR MY LIVING ROOM (DOWNSIZING A BIT), ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND I WAS SO IMPRESSED AT THE WAY IT OPERATED THAT WHEN THE MY BEDROOM A/C UNIT WENT ON THE FRITZ AT THE END OF THE COOLING SEASON LAST YEAR AND THESE WENT ON SALE, I JUST HAD TO GRAB ONE AND THE PRICE AND QUAITY YOU CAN'T BEAT ANYWHERE, I CHECKED......

Came to the rescue when central air was off for a few days. After waiting for repair to arrive, we kept using this window a/c, which cooled our entire first floor.

i liked everthing about this quiet airconditioning. sale was swift and on going till delivery, great value and quick delivery. air conditioning is quiet and efficient, has been quite a sale. we have been enjoying the cool effect in my efficency room, thank you very much

I bought this TCL 8,000 BTU window air conditioner for my 13x16 bedroom and it keeps my room very comfortable even when the outside temperature was in the mid to upper 90s this summer. I would definitely recommend this air conditioner.

Works well very well cools my whole upstairs down fast only thing is is that it's making weird Loud noises every time I when it on that's the only downside of this ac

It's nice looking and it cools good. I keep it on eco, sometimes it shuts off and then will come right back on. In fact it does that often. We have to keep the temp set a little higher to get it to shut off and stay off for any length of time. But it does a good job of cooling. It's a little noisy.

makes al kinds of strange sounds and so loud you can't watch tv or talk on phone. dosen't cool that great either. too late now !!
