TCL Home Smart 14,000 BTU Through-The-Wall Air Conditioner, 230V, Remote Included, White, W14T9X1-A

Just installed this Air Conditioner in my shop and i am amazed by the overall performance. Started from scratch and cut the hole, ordered a universal sleeve and installed in only a couple hours. The plug seemed a bit odd looking but easily found one at Home Depot to replace standard 110 plug in 10 minutes. A quick 10 minutes more in the breaker box doing a simple rewire and I was up and running. I liked the TCL because it was simple and clean in design and could be used with Alexa and/or App. It is so nice to turn on my air conditioner a little before I arrive so I walk into a nice cool building. I love this unit and would recommend it....

So far so good with this one. Hopefully it last more than a year. I had another exactly like it other than the name brand on the front that only lasted a year before it was low on refrigerant. Setting up the Wifi was a bit annoying when only using the instructions in the app. The manual explains it better. It would be nice if it had a sensor to tell you the room temp in the app and not just the temp the AC is set too. I would suggest buying the extended warranty.

I thought I would give TCL a chance with the limited reviews but it does not cool a 600 square foot apartment so I would recommend others stay away. Returning is going to be a hassle but it's worse than an 8000btu window unit the previous owner had in the wall sleeve. Customer Support at TCL is a joke so I will be returning it. They kept saying make sure it's on the snowflake icon, well there is none on the unit or remote, so they just disconnected the chat. Luckily I am able to return it but it's heavy so it's prob be hard for most.

I would love to review on how well this unit works, however, I can't. While it DOES say clearly that the wall sleeve does not come with the unit, I was unable to find one that is the dimensions that are listed in the manual. I call TLC customer service to see if they could tell me where I could find a sleeve for it, and after being placed on hold several times, I was told that I would have to have someone custom make one.
