I've been eagerly anticipating the release of this tablet since it was announced. The first, and only, place to purchase this was from Walmart. Unfortunately, some of the stats on the website are incorrect. For example, the processor is a MTK Helio G100, not a G99. The tablet itself came in at the price point announced originally. It's an outstanding value. Very fast and responsive. My primary reason for purchasing was to read comics and books. It's perfect for reading comics in full, vibrant color. The e-ink mode is great for books and reducing eye strain. I also have a Kindle Colorsoft which is locked into the Amazon ecosystem. My Boox Go Color 7 is good for being powered by Android, but the colors for comics are muted. The TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus gives you the best of all worlds. E-ink for books, full color for comics, and not locked into one ecosystem! The one complaint I have is the lack of a SD card slot. You can use a thumb drive to store something like a large comics collection, but I would like to expand storage using a micro SD card. Overall, it's a great tablet/reader. At this price it's a great value. It feels well made and the performance is outstanding. I can definitely recommend it!
The TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus is a welcome addition to the tablet market, primarily distinguished by its innovative eye friendly 11.5" 2.2K display with NXTPAPER 4.0 and 8000mAh battery with 33W PD fast charging. I have a TCL tablet that uses the NXTPAPER 3.0 display and the 11 Plus display is a noticeable improvement over the 3.0 display. I plan on using the 11 Plus in the Ink Paper Mode 95% of the time as an e-reader. There is a NXTPAPER mode switch on the top right cover so it makes it very easy to switch between the three display modes. There are several unboxing videos on YouTube but those are actually for the non-US version and include a charger, case and pen. The US version (or at least the Walmart version) only includes the tablet and a USB-C charging cable - no charger. The back of the tablet is very slick and can easily slip out of your hand. So, I'll be looking for a case. I want the case that comes with the non-US version because it is a flip cover with a magnetic holder for the pen but I cannot find it yet. The TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus is a compelling option for users seeking a tablet with an emphasis on comfortable viewing and reduced eye strain and I would highly recommend it especially at this price point.
I bought this because I love reading ebooks, but my kindle is too small for my liking. The nxtpaper button being able to switch between modes was initially what drew me to this product, and it is so awesome. What I was not expecting was how amazing the anti glare display is. I ultimately returned this tablet, due to it being too big for my liking, but for anyone who wants a great tablet at a budget friendly price, this tablet is awesome!
I love this tablet. Screen size, easy to navigate, Volume is great. Battery lasts long time when playing my games. My only issue is the charger it doesn't charge well so I have to use my other device charger and Bluetooth takes a little longer to connect mouse and keyboard. But it connects. Overall I'm very happy and satisfied.
I've done two things. Downloaded Libby and Hoopla because my main goal is to use it as an ereader for non-kindle supported books from those two sources and test a game from the app store. It works beautifully for reading purposes and to be able to switch between normal, color-in, or e-ink is amazing. It does however lag a bit, but only a small amount while playing the game I downloaded. I will definitely be buying this as a gift for the e-readers in my life, instead of the Amazon Colorsoft since it does the same thing, but more.
The positives: - The screen is excellent and the primary driver to purchase this device. Paperlike display is excellent, and it's very easy on the eyes. The different modes are great. Color Paper and reader mode are great. Color reproduction is also excellent. Considering this is not an OLED screen, I have plenty of good to say about it. - Battery life is good enough for my needs, partly because of the choice of CPU. - Performance is decent, but good enough for intended basic use. I would consider it lower mid-range at best though. This is not the top-of-the-line Galaxy Tab S, a Lenovo Legion, or other high end tablet. But that also means battery life is better. The negatives: - Poor value. There were not a lot of online reviews prior to my purchase, but the unboxings I had seen indicated this included a pen and basic case. At least for the model sold on Walmart, this is not correct. So by the time you purchase those separately, price gets into the $325-$350 range or more. Given that this model is touted, at least in part, as a creative device, why would you not include a T-pen? This seems like a huge fail, and turns a potentially great device into a poor value. Again, it now begins to cost more than the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, which includes an s pen, and Android support for much longer. - Only a single Android update. I get that cheap or inexpensive tablets don't have updates, but for a device costing a few hundred dollars, you expect more than 1 Android update, which is the most TCL will do. Even Samsung gives their budget tablets more updates than that. Summary: As a tablet, it's decent. But given that you have to buy a T-Pen ($40) to really unlock it's potential, I returned this for a Samsung Galaxy S10 FE. It came with an S Pen, at least for Android updates (so in theory to Android 19 since it shipped with 15), and averages 50-100% better CPU performance, AND comes with micro SD card support for added storage, not to mention if it's in with all my other Samsung Galaxy ecosystem, so I can call and text when it's connected to my phone. If you can still find a Galaxy Tab S9 FE available, and that CPU is still 25 to 50% better on average, and may be a better value. Incidentally, I found a 256GB Galaxy Tab S9 FE at my local Walmart clearance center for $200 (yes, I know, not a fair comparison), although it will still go all the way to Android 17.
The idea is good. replace both your ereader and your tablet with one device! The screen is really nice compared to other LCD/OLED screens for being non-reflective and easy on the eyes. the software affect for color paper mode in particular is excellent, and not something you can achieve with other devices. but it's nowhere near as good as actual e-ink for reading and outdoor use. the other issue is, they put a pretty weak, low-end processor in it. In summary, it's not as good as e-ink for reading, and not as good as other tablets for demanding tasks or games. while it can replace an ereader and tablet, it's a compromise from both.
DO NOT buy this from Walmart online. The tablet was not properly packaged (thrown in a brown paper bag) and arrived damaged - box was smashed and tablet was bent. After escalating the issue to Walmart customer service, they stated that the only way to return the tablet is to bring it to a physical store. They refused to provide a return shipping label. Horrible customer service from India.
I purchased the t90 Tablet for the inbuilt-GPS. I took delivery, set it up and there is no GPS. Called tech-support, they were clueless, gave me a number to call .... "the number cannot be connected" . I have two issues: 1. false advertising 2. incompetent cust/tech "support" I spent several hours looking for the GPS or anybody who knows anything about at Walmart. I still don't know if the tablet does or does not have a built-in GPS.
The product is great and delivery was very prompt. I bought it for reading sheet music. Only have had it for one day - set up was ok, and it worked really well today in rehearsal. The one star is for Walmart as I thought it included the stylus and it does not. If I had known that (by reading more carefully), I would have bought it from the dealer.
