Fits perfectly in my cabinet. Easy to use. Really needed a replacement and am thrilled that Walmart carries this item!! Arrived very quickly. Thank you for accommodating people who still love their CD's, with inclusion of USB digital capabilities
Was looking for a CD player to replace my almost 30 years-old Sony 5-changer that was malfunctioning. Considered the 6-changer. The sound is clear and crisp, even at the lowest levels (where I play music)--a notch above the Sony. Would have given this 5 stars, except for the remote, which would only work if connected to a TEAC amplifier. This is ridiculous in the 21st century. A pain in the butt, to have to manually replay a selection, or the CD. Despite the wonderful sound, I may return this, if I can get a CD player with remote! Would recommend this for sound, but not for ease of operation--i.e. the non-functioning remote! Poor functionality.
Generally happy with the CD player. Only using it as a CD player through my stereo so can't comment on other functions. Was using a DVD player optical output though a DAC connected to my stereo and while the sound was good it was operationally annoying. This was a good solution.
Great unit for the money. The D-A converter make a near analog sound quality with the frequency and dynamic range of digital. Like the various digital conversion features. Better D-A units are available for more $ but, this does much better than I expected.
For some reason, I thought it was a multiple CD player. It is a single disc player. It has other options ,like recording and Bluetooth, which I wont use.
Works fine, except the USB interface is very rudimentary. USB have directory / file structures, and there is no sort option for the files or directories. This makes it difficult to use for stored music on USB drives. Other than that it works as expected. A bit over priced for what you get.
A more indepth description of the product and the specifications would have made it a better experience. The price is such and the immediate availability, for the most part made-up for these other short comings. But, I spent a lot of time and money building a new cabinet for my stereo equipment and music collection. So, it is no fault of Wal-Mart, no fault of Onkyo/Teac, just frustration that important purchases have to be made online.
The reason I bought this was to use the USB port to record my CD's on to but the function of this model wasn't working
DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!! The delivery was fine - the unit arrived within 2 days of placing the order. The trouble began when I attempted to play a CD and the unit could not read the disc. I kept getting the message "no disc". I sent an e-mail to the manufacturer's website requesting support and received no response. I called their the manufacturer's hotline, was connected to a service rep, who asked several obvious questions to make sure I was inserting the disc properly (I was). The rep then hemmed and hawed, the line went quiet, and my call was dropped. At that point I decided to return the unit and receive a refund. After consulting the Walmart website for returns, I went to the nearest Walmart with POS CD player in hand. where I was informed that since this was a "Marketplace" purchase, I would have to ship the unit back to the manufacturer. I will note that the Walmart person was helpful in getting this done. Turned out to be a giant pain in the neck and I am still waiting for my refund.
The TEAC CD Player (CD-P650) only gives a "No Disk" error message on the Display for CD's. The USB worked though. I have seen this same problem listed online several times. I wll try to return it for a refund.
