TEAPIGS YERBA MATE HIGH ALERT TEA, 15 BAGS

My local gym was giving boxes of this tea away and thought it was because nobody was buying it. I love it and happily gave away packets to friends. In an idle moment at work I googled it and immediately was beset with articles about links to cancer. Comments? Suspect this is why the are giving it away...

I replaced green tea with coffee and tea years ago but it was only a few months ago I tried Yerba Mate. I love it! I actually much prefer it to the green tea variety, its lovely and smokey but doesn't have the same bitterness green tea does. I would love 50 boxes as I can't get enough of this tea, its such a delight to drink and still has the same health properties as the green tea I'm so used to!

What a lovely surprise. This tea tastes subtler than I thought it would having read the description, very pleasant. And as for the focus/energising effects? Well, they weren't lying. One cup of this and my head was clear and my mojo restored. Clean, slow release energy without any of the anxious buzz you get from some caffeine drinks. Thank you teapigs xx

I've had yerba mate before but I never thought it would become one of my favourites. Now I can't think of a better drink for a cold winter afternoon or evening! Add a teaspoon of delicious homemade honey and enjoy :) I also find it extremely affordable, so I will definitely be ordering some more very soon.

so i tried this for the 1st time this week, and the second bag i had a teaspoon of stevia and about a 1/2 teaspoon on cocoa with it, and its amazing. it sounds like an odd combo, but the cocoa accents the smokeyness and the stevia provides a natural sweet aftertaste. try it

Wonderful smokey taste (even after a glass of red wine) but not so heavy/energising you are bouncing off the walls .... great. Well worth a try and now on my 3rd reorder (Teapigs - can you do the bigger 50 box please)

I was unsure about this tea but I love it! It is a little heavier than green tea, but doesnt have the green tea aroma. Its is wonderful and I will definitely be buying more! Thank you Teapigs :-)

I just want to add to the call for a bigger packet. surely you can see this tea is loved by your customers! So please make this scrummy (common cold fighting tea) in BIGGER numbers. Come on you know it makes sense........

I bought myself a 2 teabag pack of Yerba Mate as I like to try new things and my tea cupboard was getting full of the usual green/black varieties. Having only just finished a cup of Yerba Mate, brewed for 3 mins and made with a sprinkle of cinnamon, I really cannot decide whether I like it or not. Love the smokiness and the cinnamon gives it a wee kick, however much like Lapsang Suchong its probably not something I'd enjoy drinking every day

I got this tea on the suggestion that it could be the next Lapsang Souchong. Yerba Mate doesn't come close to Lapsang Souchong's smoky yumminess and I'm a little confused by other reviews lusting over its great smoky flavour. Maybe I've been spoilt by Lapsang Souchong. Yerba Mate is an okay tea - more in the area of a green tea. I enjoyed a cup in the morning with my breakfast. Worth trying but I doubt it will become a regular thing for me. TL;DR version: Please add a Lapsang Souchong tea to your collection :D
