Tecnu Extreme Poison Oak and Ivy Scrub, Removes Rash-Causing Oils from Skin - 4 Ounce

My son was helping a neighbor do some weed clearing on his property. He was working around poison ivy but didn't recognize it. His arms and legs were covered with itchy welps and he was scratching and miserable. This Tecnu wash stoped the itch fast! Now his skin is healing.

I was in the yard pulling poison ivy and I came in after and used the product. Its ease of use was great! I have no signs of poison ivy. I have used your other products and were very happy with them as well. I would absolutely recommendTecnu products.

This scrub works great at preventing poison ivy. I'm an avid gardener, but no matter how much I try to get rid of the poison ivy, it always seems to pop up in new places. For years, I ran the risk of getting poison ivy so bad but since I discovered this product, I'm poison ivy free. It works really well and is gentle on my skin so I even use a small bit on my face and wash gently. This scrub is easy to use. I just purchased several of these because I never want to be without it. This price is good because a little goes a long way.

This scrub works pretty well for poison ivy. I'm very allergic to poison ivy and oak. I've always struggled to be able to identify it when working in the woods or yard. I'm dealing with a pretty bad case of it right now and thought I would try this for some relief. It's a scrub you gently rub it on for 15 seconds and then rinse with warm water and pat dry. It did give me some relief for a bit.

This summer is the fourth time my husband has had poison ivy. This time was far worst than ever before. He had unsightly blisters on his arms and smaller rash areas on his back, chest and legs. Prescription creams subscribed by the doctor stopped the itch but didn't stop the horrible rash from spreading. A friend recommended Tecnu. He was right. Tecnu dried up the blisters and as they dried up the blistered skin peeled off. Since I can't keep my zealous gardener indoors we plan to keep a large stock of Tecnu on hand. Sagamore Hills, OH

This is an excellent scrub gel that will stop the itching, clear up the area/s of poison ivy, & will kill the poison ivy oil. Works really well & clears up the temporary problem quickly. If you have a dog or cat, make sure give them a bath & use this gel, it will stop their issue too. We sprayed pure vinegar on the poison ivy which kills the plant immediately. If you do use vinegar, be careful if you are spraying in or near a garden, because vinegar is acid base & will kill any flower it is sprayed on. Highly recommend this gel.

After having more than my fair share of poison ivy episodes I searched out a product to help me fight back. When used according to instructions this product kept me from experiencing poison ivy breakouts. After spending a whole summer in agony with poison ivy I am delighted with the results. I emphasize READ THE DIRECTIONS. Stop what you are doing after being exposed to poison ivy go immediately and scrub with Technu just like it recommends. Personally, I don't take any chances I apply it and wait a while longer than 15 seconds before washing it off. I have very sensitive skin so I know this product works without detriment and great benefit to stop the oil in poison ivy from irritating my skin into a miserable bout of rash, oozing, and itching.

Use at the first sign of poison ivy and use a ivy fighter with it and your in business. I have never used anything that I would recommend. Wash with Tecnu daily and use a ivy fighter and it was the first time I never had to go to the DR. Thanks TECNU!

This scrub is the best for instant relief. After I used it my ivy never itched again. I used the scrub with water then while I was scrubbing I broke the blisters and scrubbed some more. After rinsing off the scrub I laid a Kleenex over the blisters to soak up any oozing oils. Then I saturated the area with more scrub and let it dry. Then I laid a Kleenex over the area again to make sure there wasn't any oil lingering behind. I used it as a scrub and as a topical cream. I think it would work just fine following the directions on the tube. Walmart also carries a cream and a spray.

This is NOT the original Technu which neutralizes the poison ivy's aggravating Urushiol oils using alcohol-based chemicals. This has "natural" ingredients such as the Grindelia robusta (a sunflower family plant). This also has some sort of grit like pumice (polyethylene beads) to help scrub the skin. I'm unclear if the Grindelia robusta does the same job as the original Technu in neutralizing the Urushiol oil or not, but this does seem to work. I'd be careful scrubbing with this if you have blisters from the poison ivy contamination, though, because the polyethylene beads might scrape open the blisters and spread the contamination.
