Tecsun AN-48x Active Loop AM Longwave Shortwave Radio Antenna

Loop antennas do have possibility but this one did not live up to it. It is not badly built and assembles easily. On shortwave the tunng seams very touchy and hard to obtain. When used with both the Tecsun PL-360 and PL-310et it seems to overload the radio and block it. On a Tecsun PL-660 it did work but was more difficult to tune than it should be. It also would overload the PL-660 unless the antenna gain on the radio was turned down. It seemed to increase the noise more than the signal. It worked much better on MW on the PL-360 (which has no internal MW antenna) .I did not have much success with the ferrite adapter with with either the PL-310et or PL-660.. If you were looking for an antenna for a MW radio with no internal antenna it probably would be a good fit. On shortwave the results are poor since it seems to overload the shortwave radios so it probaple would be a poor fit.

Could not see any difference in my built in antenna and this one.
