Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Season 1 (DVD)

Great for 4 to 5 yr olds!!!

Really enjoyed watching especially my son! Showing him what real cartoons are!

I bought this DVD for my kids for Christmas, but it was really a gift for me. This DVD is good for little kids who are too young for the CGI, steroid-popping TMNT of these days. The animation is certainly 25 years old but it is fun to watch nonetheless. And for $5 you can't beat it.

this is exactly what I watched in the 90s when I was 3 & 4 years old. I had the first 3 episodes on vhs when i was that age, but now i've found the whole season on dvd and i am satisfied to finish what i couldn't watch before! the dvd menu is strictly play all episodes or select episode. No bonus language, sound, or other features. If I could give it a flaw, it would be the 2.0 sound. Sounds cheesy compared to dolby 5.1 surround. Other than that, i'm very happy.

I have always been a fan of the turtles, so I bought this for my own children and they absolutely love it. Worth every penny.

Mirage studios contracted with Playmates toyline to make action figures based off the TMNT comics, and Playmates agreed if a cartoon was made. The cartoon makes some large changes to the story, and non of the 80's cartoon is deemed canonical. It definitely has charm that only that decade has (and is hard to replicate). I've been getting into the 03' cartoon series which is more based off the comics, and has a darker feel to it (don't worry it's not scary or graphic at all). When I was a kid and the 80's show was on I hardly got to watch it because I lived in Germany and programming was weird there. I loved it to death but today I don't really remember it too well, so I bought the first season to watch. I've gotta admit, it was kind of weird in the changes they made, but it's definitely the cartoon everyone grew up with. I wish there were more than the handful of episodes on the disk, but the bonus episodes make up for it. The Walmart price is great, and can't be beat, especially if you do store pickup, since shipping is free. I'd recommend it.

The original TMNT is wayyy better than this remake the've concocted.

It's great DVD but Not the complete season like I'd hopped

I watched this real TMNT series when I was young & I'm so glad I could find them for such a great price too for my son, the new version of turtles (their faces in particular) don't look right
