This was exactly as described and worked perfectly to power our plug-in cooler in our car. We were also able to use it in the hotel room with the cooler.

Hey, it works. There's not much more you can say about something like this. I plugged it in the wall, I plugged my heavy duty, tire pump into the lighter socket, and the pump ran as expected. There was a slight problem, though… The box was shipped in a very good padded envelope. When I opened the box a tiny sliver of plastic fell out. I pulled out the adapter and saw that the chip had broken off of the main little box. It was obviously damaged before shipping, someone must have dropped it onto a cement floor and not bothered to check it for damage. It's not worth the hassle and the expense of returning this for another unit. I'm just going to end up gluing it back together or covering the hole with duct tape.
