Holds arrow in the arrow grove well
The arrow retention spring functions to hold the arrow in the arrow grove against the barrel of the cocked crossbow. This enables the operator to hold the crossbow at different angles without the arrow falling off the barrel. All crossbows come with something that performs this function and the only reason you'd buy this part is if something happened to the one that came with your crossbow, such as the retention spring got bent by snagging on something. You want it to apply just the right amount of pressure on the arrow shaft and when installed properly this one does when using an arrow of the diameter recommended by the manufacturer. In short, it does its job and is an OEM part in case you bent or lost the one that came with your crossbow.

Tenpoint the greatest crossbows
Very easy to install. Nice video tenpoint has of how to install. The old one just the vinyl got worn after 8 yrs. Tenpoints are the greatest.

Vinyl coating ripping away.
The reason I'm buying another of these is because the original is losing it's vinyl coat at the tip of the spring, after less than 50 shots.

Good stuff
My husband and I just purchased this item we like it because it's metal . But it doesn't fit the Barnett recruit crossbow so you have to modify it . It is to wide for the bow.
