The Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus graphing calculator has been great for my teenage son that is doing high school AP classes and college courses. This calculator was approved for the mandatory state high school exams and college exams for Florida. My son has owned this calculator for several months and has not complained one time about malfunctions. I felt I paid a little too much for the calculator, but it was way cheaper than other brands on the market.
This item is great for school and algebra. I got the Infinitely Iris color. Definitely recommend. I will be using it for the years to come!
I purchased this calculator for my sister who is studying for her finance degree and being an owner of many Texas Instruments calculators, I highly recommend it to both business and science students. It is user friendly and someone who is not a "math person" can learn to use it. There are other calculators out there that are less expensive but you get what you pay for and Texas Instruments will not let you down. Mine have lasted for many years through many uses and with new ones coming out in fun colors I find myself giving them away so I can purchase a new one in a fun color! I am a science and math teacher in a community college plus I have a tutoring business. these are the only calculators I use for the high school and college students. I have purchased Texas instruments calculator for younger students and for myself as a basic calculator. You will be pleased with the calculator plus Walmart makes it easy to afford it with their great prices.
This has been a great calculator and I expect it to be the last one I need to get through school. The buttons are good, the display is clear, and the color screen is nice. One thing that could be a negative (or positive depending on your view point) is that the battery needs to be charged (maybe once every 1-2 months) whereas the calculators that take AA batteries typically have lasted 1-2 years before replacing them. Maybe the color screen requires more power. A plus is the calculator is thinner than other models since there are no AA batteries.
I did not receive the correct calculator!!! I got the PYTHON instead of the one described and pictured!!
If the description was clear that the package had been open and the price reflected that fact, then this review might have been different. However, since the description was unclear and the packaging was greatly disturbed, I could not be sure that the calculator was not also damaged so I returned the product. This review is no reflection on the model of calculator itself. This calculator is the standard. However, I cannot recommend this seller and am skeptical of 3rd party sellers from this platform.
The calculator didn't work. Kept blinking an error. After several hours watching videos and reading Reddit threads, I determined the battery doesn't work. I also learned that Texas Instruments will send a free battery and ordered one. It was to be here in 5-7 days. It's been 9 days and it looks like it's scheduled to be delivered 2 days from now. I will be out of town by then so it'll sit in a hot mailbox. This was needed for keystone testing which has now passed. Thankfully, the school had enough for her to use theirs. IF you buy this, make sure you buy it ahead of time. I'm sure it'll be great if/when we get the new battery.
Inside Package was water damaged. I returned to the store and am waiting for a refund.
Did not work on arrival. Will not charge and cycles through a loop of “validating os” and “restarting.” We tried a hard reset and replacing the battery but ended up returning.
Unfortunately, the sku numbers for the TI-84 plus CE on the website were actually the numbers for the TI-84 plus graphing calculator, so that's the one that arrived at the store. Since my child needed it & I know TI makes good products, we just kept the regular 84. My rating is more for Walmart than the calculator. The sales receipt & what I looked at online were just like the picture above, but that's not what I got when I picked-up my order.
