Worth the extra $!
I love the colored screen. It makes it much easier to see. Extra options make solving equations easier than on the basic TI-84. I love the color options.

Child needed this calculator for senior year of high school. Excellent value for the money and the calculator is calculating well. And, the child is passing the class!

Ive found this calculator useful ! I used it for a college linear algebra class and calculus classes . It had all the functions i needed. It also works well with graphing, conversions from fractions to decimal. I haven't created any programs through python , but it is easily accessible. Ti also has a cool site where you can use the scientific calculator function from your laptop if your calculator isn't available either.

Great for students %26 Long lasting
I originally bought a previous version of this calculator in 2009 and it lasted through all of high school and college plus a few more years! These are great calculators for students and last a very long time! I do suggest purchasing your own (if possible) to get used to the button and function lay outs as every calculator is a little different, and this will help when students are testing. I tell my students in Algebra 1 although you do not need until later math - Algebra 2 or higher so only necessary if doing higher level! This version you do have to charge with a cord, first charge lasted about 2 months of daily use!
