If you dont know NC eastern style sauce has a thin texture to it. It is very liquidy and that is what makes it different. Please dont expect a thick bbq from this as this is an apple cider vinegar based BBQ sauce. It is delicious.
IYKYK! This is deliciously spicy and tangy. Exactly the east carolina flavor I've missed!
If you're eating the low carb/ keto lifestyle this stuff packs a tremendous amount of flavor and is low carb not to mention that the apple cider vinegar has health benefits. Brown up a pound of ground beef and use this to add tons of flavor and keep the carbs low.
thought it was be thicker, its liquid and has to much apple cider vinegar
Wasn't a fan. Dumped it right in the sink. Bought because I wanted a vinegary, spicy, sauce to go on pulled pork. Next time will take the time to make it on my own. Very vinegary and not in a good way. Will try the other varieties though.
Native to Eastern NC, and that's way TOO RED to be Eastern NC BBQ sauce. Western NC puts a lot of tomato base in the BBQ sauce, but not the east coast. That's your first indicator that it's not authentic. That's someone west of Raleigh making an attempt at it and coming up short.
I have been a Texas Pete Fan for my entire life. I grew up in Western NC and understand the difference of BBQ sauces in Both Carolinas. With that said, this stuff sucks.........Buy Scott's BBQ sauce out of Goldsboro, it's way better. Totally disappointed in T.W. Garner Foods for making this crap.
Definitely an “acquired” taste. Not a fan, I like sweet, Smokey
