The Book of Eli / I Am Legend [DVD]

This DVD includes The Book of Eli and I Am Legend, and watching them together actually makes for a really interesting double feature. Both movies take place in a world after civilization has mostly collapsed, but they tell their stories in very different ways. The Book of Eli has a darker, slower, almost mysterious tone as it follows a lone traveler crossing a harsh, dangerous landscape while protecting something extremely important. The atmosphere of the film really stands out, and the story gradually reveals more as it goes along. I Am Legend, starring Will Smith, feels more emotional and intense. It focuses on one man trying to survive in an almost completely empty New York City, and the sense of isolation throughout the movie is very powerful. One thing I liked about this set is that the two films complement each other. They both deal with survival and hope, but they approach those themes from completely different angles, which keeps the experience interesting. For anyone wondering about content, I Am Legend is rated PG-13, while The Book of Eli is rated R, mainly for violence and language. Neither film contains explicit nudity. If you enjoy post-apocalyptic or survival stories, this is a solid double feature and a nice way to have two memorable films in one collection.

movie made it safely shrink wrapped inside of a bubble wrap envelope. I like that it was convenient and they were both on the same disk, resolution looks pretty good there was no pixelation. started off with the Book of Eli and finished with I Am Legend. definitely another double feature to add to my Personal Collection especially since this pandemic started. both for the price made perfect sense otherwise I would have spent twice as much for individual movies.

For # 1 your getting two great movies for a minimum price! Both of these movies are suspenses. You don't know what's going to happen next. great moves mind of deep thinking movies. ..

Spoiler Alert: Book of Eli and I am Legend are apocalyptic Christian movies. B of E takes place after an unmentioned catastrophe kills many on Earth, leaving numerous helpless and misfit survivors. Denzel Washington is on a quest to deliver an important book to the west coast. In I am Legend, Will Smith's quest is to find a cure for a virus that has killed or altered the minds of millions in NYC. I found both movies difficult to watch during our recent Co-Vid Pandemic, but I have given it 3 stars because other viewers might enjoy the 2 movies despite our second year of living with the Co-Vid challenges. I was also disturbed by the movies' preachiness.
